Salt N Pepa Café is one of my favourite eateries when purchasing lunch. The staff are extremely helpful & whilst the prices do vary, I have always found the cost more than reasonable. If short on time they are happy for you to ring through and place an order in advance. The sandwiches are all fresh and there is a choice between some that are pre-made, or you can have it put together yourself. One of my personally favourites is a chicken schnitzel with coleslaw & store made tuna mix all put in either a roll or between two [2] pieces of bread. Absolutely delicious! This is so huge that when I worked evening shift I would purchase one at lunchtime and it would last me for both lunch and dinner whilst at work! The price for this - jut $6.50.
= Overall the Salt N Pepa Café has a wide selection of cakes, sandwiches, salads & traditional hot food stuffs such as pies & sausage rolls. The quality is better than the usual 'take a way" type foods found in Cafe's and personally I find the Salt N Pepa Café my number one choice out of the similar eateries that line Pier Street.

This Altona Florist has been operating in Altona for over 25 years & this has been the main flower shop that I have purchased my flowers from during this time as I have lived in Altona since 1969.
= They have a wide variety of choices ranging from single stem purchases, mixed bouquets in various shapes & sizes and even cacti. Inter-Flora is also a service provided by this shop & they are more than helpful when organising this for you.
Prices do vary quite a bit and whilst I can't personally afford many of the larger arrangements I can always find something within my price range. I love having real fresh flowers in the house and will regularly go to Altona - Les Fleurs and purchase a $10.00 bunch that does quite nicely.
=Additionally the service provided is very personalised & most helpful. Sadly we recently had a death in the family & even though we were just past the cut off time to order a delivery for that day - the lovely lady went over and above to ensure we were able to send a wonderful bunch of flowers on the day & that it was delivered as required.
= In summary I am pleased to recommend this wonderful little flower shop to you, it is a local gem.

It is a pleasure to write a review for the Harbour Inn Chinese Restaurant. I live in Altona & have been a frequent customer since the early 1990's! The serving sizes are generous & the prices very reasonable. Eating in the restaurant is a nice experience as the décor is stylish & pleasant. My family gets home delivery quite a bit at the Harbour Inn always amaze us with the speed at which the dinner arrives to our door!
= I personally have an allergy to MSG and need to order my meals to be without MSG. This is never a problem for them & they are more than happy to oblige my request.
This is the only Chinese Restaurant that I will purchase this style of food from & love taking family & friends there for a meal when they visit me.
=Overall: The Harbour Inn Restaurant - with the wonderful sisters, Betty, Maggie & Tina - is superb & I am pleased to recommend them to you.

I have lived in Altona for 45 years & one of the best stores is Hicks Shoes in Pier Street. It is a lovely experience to shop in this store as it has kept its original décor, my favourite item being the shelves of boxes that they service by way of a library styled ladder. Recently I purchased a pair of my shoes for my husband which turned out to be unsuitable. I returned them the very next day & received a full refund, the service being exceptional & the staff thoroughly understanding of my situation.
= Subsequent to this my husband & I returned to Hicks Shoes & ended up purchasing eight [8] additional pairs. This was as they had a great sale happening & the prices were too good to pass on. The staff were exceptional, showing much patience, genuine helpfulness and total acceptance of our need to try on various sizes of multiple pairs of shoes. We lay buyed three [3] and took home five [5] - again the staff were excellent, happy for me to take the time I need to pay it off - just as long as a regular payment was made.
**Overall I must say that I highly recommend Hicks Shoes. It is run by great staff, has a better than average choice and is so much nicer to shop in as opposed to the bland, robotic stores that are franchised.
** I also recommend looking at their stock of shoes known a TSONGA, these are hand made & imported from Africa. Hicks are the only store around that I have found even known about TSONGA shoes and I have personally purchased at least fourteen [14] pairs of these wonderful sandals / shoes and all from Hicks. 10/10.
