This review is for Vada Cafe, Frankston VIC

I visited the Vada Cafe a little while back after seeing a recommendation on a social networking platform.
They have a great range of meals and snacks for breakfast and lunch, including vegetarian options, and also amazing coffees and hot chocolates.
I initially thought prices on some items were expensive, but the portion size and quality makes up for this, and proceeds made at this cafe go to help a children's charity in PNG I believe. Staff were friendly, and orders were served quickly, fresh, and of a home cooked style. I'd love to go back and try something else on the menu!

This review is for Stud Road Medical Clinic, Dandenong VIC

I recently had to visit this clinic after feeling ill out of hours of my regular doctor's hours. I had visited this clinic several years ago, but not recently. When I arrived, they went over my details with me, and as I had both a medicare card and health care card on hand, they were willing to bulk bill.
The friendly reception staff informed me that during busy after hour periods there could be up to an hour wait, but I was seen after just 20 minutes. The doctor I saw believed my condition needed further treatment at hospital and wrote a referral to have my fast tracked to see a specialist in the emergency room at Dandenong hospital.
I was thoroughly impressed by the service at this medical clinic.

This review is for Menzies Avenue Fish And Chips, Dandenong North VIC

This fish & chip shop is much like any other - basically the same menu. However, I am rather picky when it comes to fish and chips stores, and this is one of the few that I actually enjoy the food from! The fish is always delicious, the chips are never too soggy, and it is always hot and fresh! The staff are also friendly, and try hard to make service fast paced and convenient, despite often being overcrowded. I would definitely return!

This review is for Menzies Bakery, Dandenong VIC

This is my favourite privately owned bakery I have come across!
Firstly, the staff are friendly, and the service is fast paced without feeling rushed, something I appreciate.
The bakery offer a large range of delicious baked goods - sweet or savory, pre-made or ready-to-use, and for meat eaters or vegetarians. I have sampled a large range of the products here, including the bread & bread rolls, some of the sweets, as well as some of the hot baked vegetarian foods, such as quiches I have never been left disappointed by the quality or price of the food here.

My only advice would be to get in early, as if you are looking for a late lunch, your favourite menu items may already have sold out for the day!

This review is for JB Hi-Fi, Dandenong VIC

verified email - 21 Apr 2013

Obviously JB Hi Fi is a large chain store, with value and product quality across all stores nationwide much the same - most items are well priced but some things seem a little overpriced (e.g. I wouldn't pay $26 for a CD but they also have lots on sale for $7 or so! Goods such as technology accessories, televisions, and so on are of a variety of different qualities, you get what you pay for.

I've made a variety of purchases at this JB Hi Fi, usually CDs or DVDs. Customer service isn't as good as some other JB Hi Fi Stores; It is not bad, but not memorable. I find that most staff are uninformed about the products; I have previously been told what I want is on the shelf, only to have another staff member look it up when I can't find it - and tell me it is only out the back, or it is sold out.

I often find it difficult to get a parking spot close by this store, especially if Dandenong Market is operating. I wouldn't bother going there JUST to buy one thing, but if I was at another store nearby, I may wander in to have a look.

Overall, I give it a 3 out of 5. It's not the best JB Hi Fi branch, but it isn't bad, and I would return!

This review is for CW Cakes, Cheltenham VIC

I have visited CW Cakes both to purchase cakes, and to purchase accessories in order to make my own cakes. The staff are easy to work with when designing a made to order cake. If you are looking to buy or hire things to bake at home, the staff are helpful in running through with you what you will need in order to get the desired result. I believe CW Cakes also runs decorating or baking classes for anyone interested!

Would highly recommend CW to anyone!

This review is for Misty's 1950's Diner, Prahran VIC

verified email - 21 Apr 2013

I've been to Misty's a few times now, and I absolutely adore it! As a huge fan of the American '50s theme, I had been dying to try it out! I have enjoyed my meals and drinks every time I have visited! The menu has such a wide variety, but I discovered may not be suitable for some fussy eaters. Most items on the menu are a little overpriced, but I suppose that is to be expected at such a place.

Each time I have found myself waiting several minutes before even being greeted by staff, but once I've gotten their attention they have been friendly and attentive. Although food and drinks can take a while to be prepared and sent out to the table, I have never had an issue with an order arriving incorrectly.

The diner would be a great place to celebrate a birthday or great for people visiting from out of town and looking for a unique dining experience

This review is for Menzies Charcoal Chicken, Dandenong VIC

verified email - 21 Apr 2013

Menzies Charcoal Chicken is one of my favourite places to purchase take-away chicken! They have the best chicken, chips, and snacks. Everything is priced reasonably and tastes great!

Staff are friendly and attentive to detail, but as the shop is sometimes busy, I find that placing and collecting orders can be timely.
I have enjoyed past visits here, and I would return!

This review is for Basement Discs, Melbourne VIC

verified email - 20 Apr 2013

Basement Discs provides a wide variety of local and international music, mostly consisting of harder to find or lesser known items, on CD, DVD, and vinyl formats.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the range of items is fantastic, and I have never had a negative experience in store.

Some of the more generic items may be available at places such as JB Hi Fi at a lower price, but generally they provide great products for very good value! I'm impressed and I love visiting whenever I am in the city for shopping fun! :)

This review is for Lindt Chocolate Cafe, Melbourne VIC

verified email - 20 Apr 2013

As a huge fan of Lindt Chocolate, I just knew I had to try this place, and it did not disappoint!

After two visits, my friends and I were thoroughly impressed and would return again. I am a huge fan of the chocolates, treats, and hot chocolate drinks. During my second visit, a friend ordered a coffee and was thoroughly impressed.

The price tags on some items were quite expensive, however this was to be expected, with Lindt chocolate known for it's high quality and matching high price tag.

The chocolate used in chocolate flavored items is rich; tasting much like actual Lindt chocolate. I would not recommend it to anyone who is not a fan of Lindt chocolate's rich taste, however it is the perfect cafe for chocoholics like myself!

While it's not a place I would want to visit every day, I look forward to my next visit!
