The salt cafe has a nice view overlooking the water on the Esplanade. Prices of the meals are reasonable and it is such a pleasure to eat there because of its location and modern style. I enjoyed my meal (fish of the day) and the staff are quite prompt in serving up the meals. I recently heard that they have opened up for dinners. Will definitely give that a go one night.

This place is very full on the weekends as it is close to the night club on the Esplanade. I tried about 7 different tapas there with 2 other friends. Each tapas cost about 8 $each. The quality is quite good but portion size is still a bit too small despite the nature of the dish being 'tapas'. It took us a long time for the last dish to come out even though we chased them up a couple of times. Will probably go there again as it is centrally located in Hervey Bay, making it easy to catch up with friend.s

I have tried the red bean, green tea as well as the cheese and chives flavoured hotcakes which I love. They are great affordable snacks at $0.80 each. My sister recently introduce me to their Vegetarian pancakes with seaweed flakes and some special yummy (perhaps teriyaki) sauce on it. The pancake is made up of 4 separate squares which makes it easy to eat or share with others. I have not tried this anywhere else, making it a very special treat for vegetarians.

The meals are so affordable that I would consider going there to eat every night the hassle of cooking. You can get a proper bowl of rice or noodles with meat and veggies for less than $10. I love the fact that you can choose extra entree or snacks to serve with your meals. The downfall is that it's not the best place to catch up with friends as the seats all face the wall, which reminds me of eating ramen noodles in Japan. Meals are prepared relatively quick. It is one of the best choices for fast food or take away if not choosing to have deep fried items from the menu.

This review is for Spinners, Broadbeach QLD

I have dined at the Spinners Cafe a couple of times. The first time I ordered the Pizza from the standard menu which was of average standard. The second time I went with a group of 4 friends and we noticed that members of the Casino are able to order a lobster with melted cheese on it serve with chips and side salad for $15 (I think it's called 'deal of the month')!. We all ordered that meal at the end. I quite enjoyed it but being someone who is health conscious, I wish there were more salads and less chips. If I live on the Gold Coast, I will go there at least a month to find out what deal of the month they have for members!

This review is for Piaf, South Brisbane QLD

verified email - 12 Jan 2014

The Piaf is located close to the South Bank Cinema which is convenient and easy to find. I was quite excited to try their menu when I was successful in making a booking there, as weekends are often fully booked as far as I know. Both my friend and I had a pasta meal there. The dish was well presented and tasted pretty good. I didn't feel satisfied though as the portion size was quite small and I paid $17 for it. I had to go elsewhere for a pretty big dessert to fulfill my appetite afterwards.

This review is for Hervey Bay Golf Club, Booral QLD

I went to the Golf Club with group of 8 people for lunch on the weekday. They have a variety of lunch deals less than $10 per meal and portion sizes are relatively generous. The quality is pretty good considering the money we pay for these deals. For example, the steak I had was soft enough and I like the fact that we can choose different sauces to go onto it. One thing that slightly let us down on the day was the time it took for us to make the order and for the meals to arrive was quite long, considering that we booked to come for lunch. But otherwise, it is a good place to have a bargain 'pub' meal there if you aren't in a hurry to go anywhere.

I have tried both hot chocolate and iced chocolate. The hot chocolate was way to sweet for me, especially toward the bottom the cup, I feel like diluting it with some hot milk... On the other hand, the sweetness iced chocolate was just right. The staff also asked if I wanted to add cream on top or not, which I thought was very thoughtful of her to do that. The size of the shop was a bit small but comfortable enough to catch up with a friend over a drink.

This review is for Wild Lotus Restaurant Hervey Bay, Booral QLD

I had dinner with a big group of friends the other night. I ordered the Barkers Creek pork cutlet which was very juicy. Some of my other colleagues ordered the lamb shank and said that dish wasn't 'as good as they expected'. Quality of the meals seems to be not overly consistent from time to time. The lightings of the restaurant are a little bit dim for my liking. Nontheless, it is worthwhile to try their meals while visiting Hervey Bay.

I went to this place on my birthday and got a free birthday meal when dined with another friend who purchased a meal. I ordered the slow cook beef pie which was very delicious served in quite a genuine portion size. There are also bands who play music throughout the night to entertain the diners. A good relaxing pub to meet up with friends to have a meal or a drink or two.
