I recently tried their vegetarian pancake as there was a special for half price for 1 day only. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but it turned out extremely yummy!!! It tastes like the Japanese okonomiyaki, but is filled with vegetables and what tasted like glutinous rice cake. The seaweed topping smelled sooo good, and with the pancake cut into 4 slices, I shared with my friends and they loved it too. The pancake does take at least about 15mins for them to make it, so it is a bit of a wait; but you're guaranteed a fresh and hot one!

I have tried the red bean, green tea as well as the cheese and chives flavoured hotcakes which I love. They are great affordable snacks at $0.80 each. My sister recently introduce me to their Vegetarian pancakes with seaweed flakes and some special yummy (perhaps teriyaki) sauce on it. The pancake is made up of 4 separate squares which makes it easy to eat or share with others. I have not tried this anywhere else, making it a very special treat for vegetarians.

I was a little diappointed with this place personally as I didnt like the hot cakes. I thought they were mainly uncooked dough in the middle and will never eat there again. However the place is very popular with other people and they do have good service. They do keep churning out the food all day long so give it a try before you decide.

Hot cake house sells Taiwanese small hot cakes. You can get one for just 80cent - lots of different flavours to choose from like custard, sesame, red bean etc. my faovurite is the cheese and corn. They now have newer flavours, more 'gourmet' like, at around $1.40 each, like strawberry cream and belgian chocolate. I have tried most of them and they all taste good.

Great snack while you're doing your shopping - sometime s when I don't want to carry too many coins in my pocket I come here to use them all up and treat myself to a nice hot cake! My taiwanese friends says the ones in Taiwan are better (they said it should be crunchy on the outisde not soft) but it's good enough for me!
