This review is for The Jetty Cafe, Redcliffe QLD

My husband and I, together with another couple, visited The Jetty Café at Redcliffe for the first time for lunch a couple of weeks ago. The location is just lovely - along the Redcliffe Esplanade opposite the Redcliffe Pier and with delightful views of the ocean. We ate outside to take advantage of the sea breeze but there are also plenty of seats inside.
The menu is quite extensive and very reasonably priced and the meals are very generous. My husband and I both had the beer battered fish with chips and salad and it was enough to do us for our main meal of the day. One of our friends had a vegetarian salad which he said was delicious and our other friend had the nachos, which was huge. She couldn't finish it - much to her husband's delight. We would have loved to have indulged in some of their excellent range of gelati available (there was a constant stream of people ordering it as they walked by) but we were simply too full. Next time maybe - and there definitely will be a next time.

This review is for Mango Hill Tavern, Mango Hill QLD

verified email - 27 Feb 2014

I visited Mango Hill Tavern for lunch last Tuesday as part of a large group of around 50 ladies. The tables were set up so close to each other that it was impossible for some of us to get out without having to move someone else - not a good start.
The food menu looked good and the prices were very reasonable - $12.95 for a Waygu steak burger with caramelised onions and salad for example. A couple of us on my table ordered the steak burger and a few more ordered the snapper and salad. The steak was cold and incredibly tough for the two of us that ordered that. We couldn't finish it as it was quite a feat to chew each mouthful. Those who ordered the fish found it to be quite dry and it looked to me as if it was frozen and deep fried rather than cooked fresh.
I have always been keen to go there as I live at North Lakes, but there is no way that I will go back - not if I want an edible meal.

This review is for Abandon Pest Control, Kallangur QLD

I found Abandon Pest Control through previous positive reviews on WOMO and decided to book them in for a general pest control on my home at North Lakes.
The appointment was made for 10am today. Around 9am we received a call from Craig to advise that he was running around 15-20 minutes late and was that OK (which it was). How refreshing to get such a phone call!
The job was done thoroughly and professionally and at a reasonable cost. I would not hesitate to recommend Abandon Pest Control and I will definitely be using their services again in the future.

This review is for Caffe Di Vita, Wilston QLD

verified email - 25 Jul 2013

My husband and I visited Café di Vita for lunch. I had purchased a Scoopon voucher and, although great value, I am always a little dubious about how you are going to be treated (I have had a couple of negative experiences). But from the moment we walked in we were treated as valued customers. There was no issue with us having the voucher and we were still given excellent service. The food is fabulous and I can honestly say that the risotto I had was the best I have ever tasted. We shall definitely return here again and I can highly recommend.

This review is for The Tradesmans Toolbox, Morayfield QLD

After having been given the run-around by Masters for a faulty blower vac that we purchased from them, we were directed to The Tradesman's Toolbox at Morayfield. The service we received from them was both professional and prompt. After dropping the blowervac to them on Wednesday afternoon for repair, they rang this morning to advise that it was fixed and ready to be picked up. Would definitely recommend.

What do you buy your son who has everything for his 30th birthday? That was my dilemma until I visited the Gifts for Blokes website. There were so many great ideas and when I had made my choice it was so easy to purchase and pay. I received an email when the item was posted and today it arrived well packaged and of the very highest quality. I would highly recommend this website and I certainly will be visiting them again.

This review is for Masters Home Improvement, North Lakes QLD

My husband bought a blower vac a few months back from Masters, with the guarantee of a replacement if anything goes wrong with it. Just last week it started cutting out or not kicking in and there was obviously something wrong with the switch mechanism. So we took it back to Masters, with the original docket...and there the saga began. We were told we needed to contact the manufacturer (which I think they should do) and get some sort of coupon from them for replacement. We did that but now we have been told that we need to go to Morayfield to have the item assessed. I think the hope is that the whole process is too drawn out and you will just give up and buy a new item.
We also bought a whipper snipper from them at the same time as we bought the blower vac, but have had no end of trouble getting replacement line for it. We go to the store and it's never in stock so we have to order it. At this stage we have been waiting over a month for the line to come in.
I think we might stick with Bunnings from now on.

I was part of a group of around 50 women that visited The Place 2B last week. Located on the Mt Mee Road, this place is welcoming right from the start with plenty of parking and a superb location right beside a dam with lots of ducks and other birdlife. The food was excellent - all homemade - plentiful and very inexpensive. The large group proved a bit of a challenge and it took a while to get all the meals out, but the owners and staff were so lovely no-one minded. The coffee is excellent, always a plus. Next time I return I would choose a table out on the verandah which overlooks the dam. Definitely worth travelling to.

This review is for Mr Wongs Chinese Restaurant, Wilston QLD

Our group of four visited Mr Wong's for dinner last night. It's a charming little restaurant with an atmosphere like stepping into a cozy old home. The menu is extensive but we opted for one of their banquets. We had quite a large number of mains to choose from and the four dishes that we chose were absolutely delicious - cooked perfectly and the main ingredients were plentiful. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Even though we were really full, we couldn't resist trying out the desserts which were really delicious. We will definitely be returning here.

This review is for Absolute Thai, Mango Hill QLD

I have been to Absolute Thai a couple of times now and both times the quality of the meal was first class. On my first visit I wasn't expecting such a lovely restaurant - very nicely furnished and a good atmosphere. Even though they have takeaway patrons coming and going, it doesn't intrude on the dining experience. There is something for everyone on the menu including a good range of desserts. Can't wait to go back!
