I never once made a service complaint in my life, however, after what I just experienced from this company I want to warn anyone else out there so they are aware of the same tactics. In my opinion, the experience I received was poor conduct and misleading sales tactics.

I purchased a new fridge and simply needed the water connected to an already existing inlet. Everything was there. For a plumber, there could not be a more simple job. When scheduling the appointment I requested a ballpark price to ensure that I was prepared for the price (and wouldn't get scammed). This was refused as they quoted that they don't have fixed prices and that the technician will need to review on-site before they could price. I then asked for someone to call me prior to ensure that I wasn't going to get some excessive price quoted. Again, the operator said they would 'request this and put it in the notes but couldn't guarantee it. I reluctantly agreed to pay $132 for the callout because I knew it was a quick/small job and couldn't be more than 15mins work (how much could that possibly be??). When the service technician arrived, he walked me through their IPAD which did in fact have set pricing for the exact service that I was requesting. $875!!!! This is on top of the $132 I had already paid them. The service technician even agreed with me that it would take him no more than 15-20mins and almost looked ashamed at what he was required to quote me that price. Safe to say he was promptly asked to leave.

In my opinion, this company's sales tactic is to deliberately deceive the consumer by offering a low-mid callout rate, deliberately avoiding any further pricing discussions prior to arriving onsite, and then charging an excessive amount once they are onsite. For me, this lacks integrity.

If I wasn't already suspicious regarding this company's integrity, I've tried to contact their customer support team, nothing. I've requested callbacks, nothing. They have also turned off every possible review forum so that they can keep operating with these types of experiences unable to be shared.

I will be contacted the ACCC to report this company. Please watch out.

I used Jim's Plumbing to clear a blocked drain .I regularly use Jim's Mowing to cut my lawns so i thought i would try them for plumbing

They gave us good advice, friendly plumber, very prompt and reliable. They fixed the problem in a very quick fashion. They were very nice to chat with and they cleaned up before leaving. They were reasonably priced.

Charged us over 5 thousand dollars over three different visits for the same issue that kept reoccurring before offering us a 15,000 dollar permanent option. The work they completed was atrocious, leaving mess throughout our house, and damaging lots of our property. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Chris was vet professional and talked me through everything about the heater and what I could do.

I would not recommend them at all. $132 call out. Not refunded. $699 to unblock bathroom sink drain with plunger. 10 minutes work max Ripoff. Never again. Meant to be Jim’s plumbing but arrived in Metropolitan plumbing van. Not clear on the reason. Phoned me ahead to say this would happen. Plumbers respectful and competent. Prices outrageous. Last time I use Jim’s plumbing and Metropolitan plumbing.

Charged $690 for just using a high pressure hose and camera to check for a blockage. The work took only about 30 mins max. That's $1640 per hour.
This is a scam don't use them - I am a mug for paying that price.

I can't believe this company is allowed to stay in business. We dug a hole through a pvc pipe which was only 10cm underground instead of 30cm. We paid $132 over the phone to book. He arrived on time which was great and quoted what my husband heard as $99 to fix in under an hour. We thought that was reasonable at $231 all up. He was done in 20 mins. But what he'd actually said was $990. We were astounded and after some words he said he's take the booking fee off. He should have done that anyway! He said it's "standard pricing in the industry". That's rubbish. I'd hate to think of the vulnerable people in the community they rip off every day. Will never, ever use Jim's Anything ever again.
