Never use them.
They lie and run you around. Their accounting confusing and non sensible in order to plunder yout $1000 deposit. Try getting your refunded deposit: its taken months with no reply to my numerous requests

Totally frustrating experience. Settlement was on the 13th of December. Our over payment of over $28K took over a month to be paid back. Numerous calls made with little action made. Still to this day we have not received a final statement of accounts after asking more than 10 times. Loads of excuses made and blaming other conveyancing companies for their lack of follow up. Find another service provider that is customer focused.

Avoid at all costs!!!!! Totally useless bunch of amateurs. Every piece of communication is automated and they don’t even bother to personalise the emails with your name or information. Felt like I was acting on my own behalf the entire time. Complete waste of money. Never again.

I recently used Ownit for conveyancing for the sale of my apartment.

Ownit said on their quote that their fee was all inclusive and unlike other conveyancers there were no extra hidden fees.

When I got to the end of the process and about to settle I first find out about a settlement agent fee of $74 to be paid. This fee had never been disclosed to me before. If they chose to outsource the attendance at settlement I don't see why I should pay the fee. I thought that was what I was paying Ownit to do!

Also just days before settlement they sent me an email following up on the transfer forms for the sale of the property. I had sent them these forms 2 weeks earlier by registered mail and had verification they had received them. I was not impressed to be put into this last minute panic. They eventually found the forms thankfully!

Otherwise the experience was fine. Very friendly etc but the hidden settlement agent fee really annoyed me. I don't mind paying what I should for a service but felt swindled at the end of the settlement process and it put a bad taste in my mouth.

If they had been upfront about these costs I would probably have used the electronic settlement process which would have cost about the same

Domestic violence victims beware. Warning This company not only condones domestic violence they will infact help your abuser commit acts of domestic violence. If you are the victim of domestic violence and going through property settlement avoid this company do not use them they helped my abuser to force my signature on a contract that would have me agreeing to include my possessions with the sale of the property

I would never recommend this business the staff are rude unprofessional and down right useless. Throughout the entirety of our settlement a different person contacted me without fail everytime. There was no consistency. They were lazy, explained nothing and were quick to request to be paid while actually doing nothing.

I used Ownit to do the conveyancing on a property I sold, it started out quite well with fantastic receptionists and things rolled along quite well right up until sale day ( or what was supposed to sale day ) it happened to be on a Friday before a long weekend and I heard nothing about the sale going through ok and I checked my bank to see nothing, I rang numerous times but no answer, next morning I rang the real estate who informed me the buyers had an extension till Tuesday and we’ll that was news to me! So on Tuesday by 10.am I still haven’t heard anything so I ring Ownit to be told they got my message and had looked into it and they had sent me something but it went into their drafts and that’s all she said!!!! So then she informs me that 2.00pm today the settlement will go through and they will definitely let me know, so here I sit at 4pm after leaving another message earlier and no one returning my call wondering what’s happening now……… finally at 4.35 a young lady rings to tell me it’s gone through ….. I’m so angry and upset…… communication is so important in business and making all customers feel valued which I surely do not feel……. Do you think I will sell my next house through Ownit…….. Hell no

UNPROFESSIONAL and cost me THOUSANDS of dollars and needless stress.

I made the mistake of using this company (based in Beenleigh Qld) and paid the price.

I refinanced my house and simply added my wifes name, a simple process that apparantly was too challenging for OwnIt Conveyencing, which saw me pay out over 6.5 thousand in stamp duty fees that I was exempt from.

We all make mistakes -but :

-Did they apologize? No - when I alerted them to their mistake their response was "Oh thats interesting", Whilst the office of state revenue advised that the ownus was on them to fix the issue, OwnIt took no ownership of their mistake and stopped answering emails.

- Did they attempt to fix the issue? No - Multiple emails ansd calls went unanswered- they were always 'Unavailable' and never returned contact.

- Where they professional? No Every step of the process took way longer than it should have and required me to constantly chase them up.
Something that typically takes under 2 weeks to settle took 6 MONTHS.

I wouldnt reccomend this mob to my worst enemy, If you use them, prepare to have ongoing issues for Months. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Approximate cost: $1100

Don't believe the hype, communication issuses, given the run around, make errors that cost you time and money. You don't need the STRESS!.

I used Ownit because their advertising said ‘no hidden costs’ & ‘all inclusive fee from start to finish’. Untrue. At settlement they charged an outrageous amount for a simple eft. The whole process was riddled with mistakes which I had to keep pointing out to them. I was charged a fee for ‘outlays’. I disputed this & it was removed, then added back in at settlement. The refund of this amount took 3 emails, 2 phone calls & 12 days because apparently It was ‘complex’. The Principal does not answer emails. Some of the staff (not all) are extremely rude & hard to deal with. I have submitted a complaint to Dept of Fair Trading & am sending another to Legal Services Commission. Don’t be fooled by what I believe is false & misleading advertising. There are plenty of reputable Conveyancers around. Never again with Ownit.
