The Chaffey Theatre is a really nice, comfortable venue.
We have just been to a Shannon Noll concert here, and the comfort of the venue certainly contributed to our enjoyment of the event.
We have also been to several regional school music presentations at the Chaffey, and it was an equally great venue for these activities.
There is seating for nearly 500 people, very comfortable seats, with more room per seat than many venues, all rows are progressively raised, so that every seat has a clear and unrestricted view of the stage area. All carpeted, good acoustics and a comfortably maintained temperature.
They also play the latest movies here, and the venue is also available for meetings, seminars, conferences and other events.
This is a great venue, covering the Riverland of South Australia.

This second-hand shop doesn't only stock clothing, but also has all sorts of other items, like homewares, glassware, ornaments, collectibles, books, toys, and all sorts of other 'treasures'.
The store has been operating for about 10 years, run by volunteers, and all profits go to the Royal Flying Doctor Service via the Adelaide Auxiliary. About $275,000 has been raised for the RFDS in this time.
It is open every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 9am to 5pm.
I always like to have a browse and buy something when I am in Murray Bridge; they are so friendly and doing a great job by raising money for this iconic and invaluable Aussie charity.

This second-hand bookshop is absolutely jam-packed with thousands of books, covering every category imagineable, by what I could see.
Every shelf is stacked, up to the ceiling, there are piles of books on the floor, in the aisles, and you can hardly see the owner sitting at his desk behind the counter because of the stacks of books all around him as well. They have even tumbled off the shelves in places, because there are so many.
So, if you dont like clutter and a bit of disarray, this store may not be for you; but if you are serious about looking for a hard-to-find or out-of-print book, and dont mind the challenge of a search, it will be 'right up your alley'.

A really nice bakery in Nuriootpa's main street. Always busy, this is a sign of its quality.
Tasty rolls, and nice pastries, pies etc. There is an eating area inside, and more tables outside on the verandahs, entry through yhe inside of the bakery, so you are seated on a private verandah area, not out on the street, dodging pedestrians.
A nice spot for lunch or a cuppa, and to relax and watch the street and pedestrians go by.

This is a really great cheapie store, in the main street of Nuriootpa, in the Barossa Valley.
This store is different to a lot of the chain-store cheapie stores, the owners work in the business and are very friendly and helpful, as are their staff. They obviously enjoy their business and customers.
They have a really good range of products. Cards, frames, stationery, wrapping papers, art supplies, toys, party goods, craft items, plasticware, artificial flowers, tools, homewares, gifts etc. etc.
A lot of items you dont see in other places, at excellent prices.
There is an enormous amount of stock, huge choice of items, but very neatly displayed and kept clean and tidy. Most of the items hang on display hooks, so its a lot easier to find what you are looking for, or just browse. Better than other stores that have a lot of items laying flat or in untidy bins.
A nice store, friendly staff.

Nice, clean store inside, in an old cliff-stone building that used to be a bakery (back when all small towns had their own baker).
The store is handy to the ferry queue, just off to the left as you come off the ferry into the town. Also close to the river for houseboats and other boats, with a mooring area just below the pub.
There is a small range of groceries for emergencies, a dvd library, drink frigs, chips, lollies and other deli lines, ice, firewood, bait, fishing gear, as well as takeaway food, plus petrol and diesel bowsers outside.
Pies and pasties, pastries etc. from Waikerie Bakery, plus they make burgers, hot chips, etc.
I had a nice freshly made vege burger. Good tasting, not greasy. Fair value for $6.50. Friendly service.

Had Sunday lunch with the family today at the Tonsley. It's been 35 years since I was last in this pub (it's not that I didnt like it then, just dont live nearby). Still looks a nice, modern pub. Has been kept up-to-date.
The Chrysler Bar, with half a bright orange Charger mounted on a wall, and another old (front-end) of a Valiant above the bar area are sensational, especially for a nostalgic Aussie classic car enthusiast like myself.
There is a drive-in bottle shop at the front, motel-style accomodation at the back, and a nice bistro dining area on the other side of the building.
We had lunch in the bistro. Nice and spacious, with a stage area and piano in one corner, for entertainment nights, I guess. Our meals were served quickly; there were only about 15 people dining at the time.
I had salt & pepper squid for $17.50. Very nicely cooked, tasty side salad and chips. Other family members had chicken parmy, $17.50/half; $19.50 full serve. They were happy with their meals as well.
There is a nice outdoor eating area as well, wooden raised deck, glassed in, with wooden seating and umbrellas for shade. We enjoyed our meal here.
Probably won't wait another 35 years to return again!!

Approximate cost: $15 to $25

We spent the weekend here with 3 other couples last weekend. We had 4 rooms in the hotel section, with ensuite in each room, for $99 per night per couple.
The facilities were quite adequate, the rooms were clean and well maintained. Each had a small verandah area, with views toward Lake Bonney. There is a nice big lawned area, with swimming pool and gardens, and we had off-street parking in front of our rooms.
We had dinner here one night, the meals were very nice, average prices, excellent, friendly service and served within a reasonable time.
Breakfast was also nice, either a choice of various cooked breakfast, or continental, served in the dining room.
There was a DJ playing on the Friday night, so we all enjoyed ourselves with the locals until the wee hours of the morning. (lucky we were staying another night and didn't have to leave early in the morning, as none of us are that young any more, and no longer able to handle late nights like we used to!). The evening was a fundraiser by a couple of the bar staff for the Leukaemia Foundation. Top effort by them, and we all had a really fun night.
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
All agreed that it was a very enjoyable weekend, and we will definitely return again.

Approximate cost: $99 per night per couple

We spent about 3 hours here last Sunday, sitting in the garden outside this beautiful old (very old, built in 1860) historic pub, having a drink and chat, then lunch.
There are new owners, only been there a couple of weeks, and very keen to revamp and improve the business (but not destroy the character and history of the place, as far as I could tell). A lovely couple, very friendly, passionate about the area, and enthusiastic.
The gardens are inviting, nicely lawned with plenty of seating and tables, covered by umbrellas. The pub itself is, of course, very old, but oozing with character. Several rooms are set up with displays of old colonial Australian items. There is a dining room inside, that would seat about 30 people, I'd guess. Or you can sit at one of the small tables in the front bar area. We had our meals outside in the garden.
A group of 6 of us had various meals, from a vege burger to fish, chips and salad. Some had half serves, which were still a very generous serving, and the prices were reasonable. Everyone was very satisfied with the quality of their meals.
This is a really nice, charming spot, and we all really enjoyed our visit here.

This store is a hobbyists delight. Heaps of different items, neatly displayed, in a nice, new, modern shop.
It is well lit, clean and tidy. Different interests e.g. trains and accessories, model cars, model kits, trucks, tractors, boats and airplanes are displayed together, so its easier to find what you are interested in.
The day I was there, it was quite busy, so the store was a bit crowded, but the owners were friendly and keen to help. They are obviously hobbyists themselves and are very interested in the products they sell.
They are open Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00am to 4.30pm.
They have a 'Frequent Buyer' program, where you can save an extra 5%.
