I did something very stupid and without thinking, started to fill my diesel vehicle with unleaded fuel. I realised quite quickly, but it was too late, I had put in over 10 litres of the wrong fuel. It was a Saturday afternoon, nobody could help, so I pushed my car in front of the Mitcham Motor Garage next door and left a note and phone number for the mechanic when he came back to open on Monday morning.
I rang Monday morning and Jon was very helpful and said he would fit in the job of draining my car's fuel tank and checking the motor that afternoon.
When I arrived at about 5pm, my car was waiting out the front, tank drained and engine checked and a new tank of the (correct) fuel. I had not started it after putting in the wrong fuel (Jon informed me it would have been a minimum $700 job if I had, and that was if no damage had been done).
Jon is a very friendly man, he did not make me feel like the idiot that I was, and politely said 'it happens quite often and is easy to do!' He explained what he had done to my vehicle, how I should refill the tank often for the first 400kms to help dilute the small amount of petrol that would have still been in the bottom and the charge was only $66 for his labour (plus the diesel cost to refill the tank, of course).
I would highly recommend this garage for any vehicle repairs (Jon showed me his classic car that he was rebuilding in his limited spare time), showing his passion for motor vehicles and skill with motors etc.. The cost was definitely very reasonable also.

Approximate cost: $66

We hadn't been here for a while as the reports from others weren't good, with a series of different managers and cooks. But, the new managers have turned this all around, they have a couple of very good local cooks in the kitchen and the atmosphere is much friendlier and happier than it has been for a while.
So,we have been several times lately and been happy each time. We have been with another couple, a group of 10 for a farewell and a large group of over 30 people for a 90th birthday party.
On each of these varied occasions the service has been excellent. The staff seem to be happier and this comes across in their manner. Peggy the boss is very friendly and the staff obviously have a good rapport with her. Our meals were very nice, with a good selection of schnitzels, fish and steak. Prices are about average and there is a nice selection of salads and veg available to serve yourself.
Nice big dining room, with a stunning view of the River Murray, cliffs and ferry.

We went here again, for an evening meal, having only been previously at lunchtime. We took our elderly mother/mother-in-law for tea after staying late at an open-house birthday celebration in the Barossa and decided last-minute to have a meal before travelling home.
Therefore we had not booked (on a Saturday night), but this was no problem. We were seated in the dining area, a pleasant glassed area of the pub, overlooking the main street.
My mother-in-law ordered a pensioner-serve meal of fish with veg and chips. It was still a generous-sized plate-full for only $12. My wife and I had chicken parmi and chicken hawaiian at around $19 per serve. Again, a generous serve of salad or veg. plus chips. Very nice, well prepared.
The staff were friendly, service was prompt and the atmosphere comfortable. It was not crowded, even on a Saturday night, which was a refreshing change.
We were all very satisfied with our meals and will happily eat here again.

Approximate cost: $12 to $20

This is a beautiful old 2-storey pub, well maintained, with a nice new area built unobtrusively onto the side, so as not to destroy the character of the building.
Plenty of off-street parking as well. The dining room has been nicely refurbished, once again keeping the old-style character.
The lady who seated us and then took our orders, served our meals and drinks (the owner, I assumed), was very friendly and welcoming.
We ordered chicken kievs with rose' sauce from the special board, well priced at about $15. Served promptly, nice salad and chips, but unfortunately our chicken had been overcooked and had a burnt taste, as if the coating had burnt and been scraped off. It even smelt burnt as it was being served to us.
This was very disappointing, as everything else about the pub and staff was excellent.
I had heard very good reports about this pub, so I am hopeful that this was an unfortunate slip-up that is not a regular occurrence , so we may give them another go in the future.

It has been 18 months since we last went here for a meal, and I did not have a good experience with my meal on that visit.
But this time, it was very good. Three of us all had the chicken parmagiana at about $20 per main. Serves were a generous size, served within about 15 minutes. It was very quiet, lunch-time on the day after New Year, which was pleasant, plenty of room and good service.
The lady who served us (table service) was very polite and friendly, as was the drink waiter.
Nice, modern dining room. And clean bathroom facilities as well, and extremely modern and trendy!

Look for the sign Goodys Chicken, in the strip shopping centre, near Rivers Factory Outlet store on South Road.
We have eaten here a couple of times and have had their chicken and a fish pack. Both very nice, freshly cooked and tasty. The quality is above average.
The store and cooking area are always spotlessly clean. Looks like it has been newly refurbished and colourfully painted.
The staff are friendly and there are seats on the verandah if you want to eat there, as we have done.
Prices are maybe a little above average, but the quality is also above average. Better than most, will eat here again.

This store is in the Food Court of the Market Place Shopping Centre in Murray Bridge.
They have a good choice of dishes on display and it has been lovely and fresh when I have eaten here. You can eat there, at a food-court table, or have a take-away serve in a plastic container. The serves are generous, you can have different dishes in the one serving and the price is average for Chinese food. The staff are pleasant and polite.

I went with a group of 14 people here for lunch, without a booking, on a Friday. The place was very busy and almost full, so we did not expect to be fitted in. But the waitress checked with the chef and he said, no problems, come on in.
We all ordered individually and all had our meals served in less than 20 minutes. We were all very impressed and every- one of my group enjoyed their meal.
The serves were a good size, prices reasonable and included the salad bar, which had a great selection and nice and fresh.
The dining room is large and spacious and there are several other areas to dine as well. A nice big bar centrally located.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
This is a great venue, clean, comfortable and welcoming. I will definitely return here and highly recommend it to others.

Approximate cost: $around $15

My family took me here for my birthday recently. It is a large and busy hotel and our meals were very nice.
We were there on a Friday night and it was packed and quite noisy, with a live band playing. We enjoyed this but it wouldnt have been great if we wanted a quiet family meal and a chat.
Our meals arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The salad bar is fairly small for the size of the dining area and was a bit depleted, but I guess its hard to keep up when it is so busy.
We had booked, but our table was fairly tight against a wall and we were short on one chair and place-setting when we arrived, so this did not help when another setting was added. The staff were friendly though, and were doing a good job on a very busy night. Overall a good experience.

A nice, clean shop. The food is prepared as you order, within view and is nice and fresh. They have a great selection to choose from and the prices are reasonable. Prompt and friendly service, will be happy to buy takeaway here again.
