I order from the Raspberry Butterfly online whenever I need cupcake boxes or new cookie cutters. They offer the best prices and their products are always packed securely and nicely presented. The accidentally forgot an item once and they promptly sent it to me after I gave them a call. Very friendly service.

This review is for Sumalee, Bentleigh VIC

I've only been to Sumalee for breakfast before but it was such a nice twist on the regular cafe fare. I got Bircher muesli which was piled high with grated apple and had lots of spices mixed in. The staff are incredibly friendly and always smiling.

This review is for Just Fine Foods Delicatessen, Sorrento VIC

I've been to Just Fine Foods multiple times-mainly for their vanilla slice. Their vanilla slice is a huge piece with flaky pastry, a smear of jam on the bottom and extra creamy vanilla custard. The price has been slowly rising and rising so you really do need to like vanilla slice to be able to enjoy it. The last time I was there I had pancakes with fresh figs and it was so good and a huge serving. All there dishes are actually quite big so it may be best to under order if you think you might be able to share items. Their service can be a bit hit and miss-some days the are quick and friendly, other days they seem to not want your money and just ignore you as you stand with money in your hand (this is after having eaten). It is a very popular place in Sorrento so either arrive early or order takeaway. I took my dog there and they came out with a bowl of water and a dog treat for him which I thought was very nice.

This review is for The Little Ox, Brighton VIC

The Little Ox is a cute little cafe in Brighton that is becoming incredibly popular. To get a seat your best bet is to go on a weekday and before or after lunch. They have a great range of items on their menu-many are cafe favourites but with a twist. I had the corn fritters with ham and avocado and they were so good-very filling and presented really well. I also had their pancakes with banana, blueberries and candied pistachios. Out of the two I preferred the corn fritters as I felt the pancakes were missing some cream, icecream or some more sauce. Overall the food was really good and good value too. It can be hard to get service at times as they are very busy so you can be waiting a while before you can get your order in.

This review is for Frost Bites, Prahran VIC

You definitely come to Frost Bites for their alcoholic slushies as they are cheap and there are heaps of different flavours. It isn't a fancy place and can be seen as a bit daggy but it is a great place to start if you are planning a night out on Chapel st. Perfect for a warm summer night.

This review is for Buonasera Pizzeria Restaurant, Black Rock VIC

verified email - 21 Aug 2013

I've eaten at this restaurant twice and both times the food has been fresh, tasty and more on the side of authentic Italian compared to some of the more 'Aussie' Italian pizzas. They offer dine in and takeaway and seem to get through quite a lot of pizzas. The pizzas have always tastes great- a nice thin crust and proper quality ingredients. I feel that there are maybe one or two too many tables in the restaurant as you can feel like you are listening in on other diner's conversations.

This review is for El Burro, Williamstown VIC

verified email - 21 Aug 2013

El Burro is a small Spanish restaurant that specialises in tapas and paellas. The paella are big enough to share between two as a meal or as part of a shared meal in a bigger group. My favourite tapas would have to be the arincini-full of flavour and crisp on the outside. The sangria was pretty good but not the best I have had. I think during busier times they may need to hire an extra waiter as you can be waiting a little while to put in your order. All in all you get great Spanish food that tastes authentic and isn't too pricey.

This review is for Caffe Crema, Bentleigh VIC

verified email - 21 Aug 2013

Caffe Crema is a great addition to Patterson rd-something us locals have been waiting years for! It is a small cafe that has seating outside when it is warm enough. They do a great coffee and my parents always walk down the street to them as they know the coffee will always be the same. The also offer lots of different food from rolls to lasagne. The staff are very friendly and like to get to know their customers.

This review is for The Merrywell, Southbank VIC

verified email - 21 Aug 2013

I love The Merrywell as it is such a good place to go to before heading out on the town. They do great sangria jugs that have a good amount of alcohol in them and aren't overpriced. Downstairs they do burgers and chips which are very good-served diner style in a basket. One thing I really enjoyed were the ice cream sodas that can have vodka put in them. They taste great and go down well with the burgers. Upstairs they have a different menu and more music.

This review is for Mr. Hive Kitchen & Bar, Southbank VIC

I've been to Mr Hive twice, but both times I only went for dessert as my partner and I had eaten elsewhere. The first time it was too busy for us to sit at the dessert bar so we just had a cocktail each and I had the Mrs Hive ice cream-vanilla studded with honeycomb and chocolate chips. The second time we sat at the dessert bar and got to watch them make our dessert. I had the chocolate/peanut slice and it was amazing. Very prettily presented. Before we left we each got a lolly bag full of their homemade lollies which were delicious. I will definitely be back here for dessert again!
