This little cafe sells one of the best vanilla slices I have ever had. They are also very generous with the portions of all of their sweets. This place gets very busy during the summer season, but it is definitely worth the wait.

Came here to try the famous vanilla slice. For $8.50 the slice was quite big so I was able to share with others. Tasted really creamy and not too sweet, overall it was amazing.

We went here for the vanilla slice that we had heard about and were not disappointed, it is DELICIOUS! It is not the standard vanilla slice that you get at any old bakery, for starters it is HUGE, soft creamy, creamy custard, not all over set like most vanilla slices nowadays, in-between two layers of melt in your mouth flakey pastry, there is also a layer of jam, which just sets it off because the custard and pastry are not over sweet. Yes it costs $7.50, but honestly it is an experience, not just an ordinary vanilla slice. And no, I'm not over exaggerating, It is the sort of food experience that you plan your day trip around!!

The reviews for this place are mixed. Some people report on a fantastic experience, perfect vanilla slices and friendly service. Others report on a cafe that is overwhelming with customer traffic, sloppy service, vanilla slices served in a dilapidated fashion and tepid flavourless coffees.
Our experience was also mixed. The vanilla slices were served looking nice, and they also tasted nice. Whether it is the best vanilla slice in Victoria or the best I have ever had, I am not sure. Service was slightly rushed, as they are very busy, so you do have to wave down the staff. We did try other items on the menu these were a let down. Most people tend to go for the ready made sweet bakery items here, so I would stick to that. They are simply too busy for the kitchen to do much else than cut and plate cakes, to reheat ready made deli foods.
