Dymocks in the city has everything! Every time I've been looking for a book, Dymocks in the city has had it in stock, I'm sure they order things in if you can't find it there but I've gone in looking for some whacky titles and they have had them all. The staff here are mostly stuck behind the counters because it is pretty busy but the store has an easy layout. Dymocks also has a good loyalty system so if you keep going back you can bring down your costs.
This Dymocks has the nice small atmosphere I think all good bookstores should have, crowded by shelves, smelling like freshley cooked books, hand written staff picks. They have a nice variety and I found the staff are nice and approachable. If I am going to buy a book these days I would like to pick it up from a bookstore, not a super market, nor an online flea market. Its nice to browse though something tangible.
Went away for a weekend, we met the owner, he was nice and helpful, pointed out some awesome local places to visit. He explained normally it was rented out for wedding parties. Our room was only small, but was well furnished with nice linen and a good range of dvds.
TGI's isn't anything fancy, its pretty much a cleanly packaged American diner experience. The service is pretty good, the food isn't anything special but it is well cooked and presented, I have never had a problem with any of the burgers. I like the selection of cocktails as well.
I recently went to the Canadian Bay Hotel and really enjoyed myself, there was a guy behind the bar whom had to be the owner he was so enthusiastic. The steak was well cooked and the service was snappy. I have to say the desert, the honeycomb vacherin, is amazing. Its well worth your time. Just stop reading this and go now and eat the vacherin.
I love this place! The interior is like my Nanna's house. Doilies, fresh flowers, pretty plates on display. The pancakes are nice, cheap and quick to come out. The service is always polite and friendly.
The view and the gardens here are beautiful. A direct look out at the city and the surrounding ho-ha. The restaurant was busy when I went, but the staff were all polite and quick with our orders considering the amount of other people. I just had a burger, but it was well cooked and was a massive serving. Not too pricey either which was a bonus.
My brother dragged me out to Aunties one night, he and his friends go there weekly, they swear by it. Hands down the best dumplings in the area, cheap, quick and easy the service leaves something to be desired and you may have to line up on busy nights but is well worth the wait.
11 months it took for us to have a coffee table delivered, we were quoted 1 month. The Coffee table is fine, its what we paid for. But it took us 11 months to receive it. We called monthly, after the first couple of months it was like they had forgotten us completely. Towards the end we were offered free delivery, then a couple months after that they offered us some store credit, which was never provided.
The furniture isn't that bad, it would have been better 11 months earlier.
I have been to Misty's quite a few times, the most recent time was the worst, I had the sliders, which were like microwaved meatballs in microwaved little buns. Usually I love the place, Misty is nice and is always walking around, all the staff seem to be American, or good at putting the accent on. The chillifries are great and they have awesome milk shakes. Love the American candy display- They also do the place up for Halloween usually.
