We've been going here for decades for key cutting and shoe repairs. The owner is always friendly, happy and helpful. The quality of his work is high. Keys are cut quickly and can be done in a variety of colours which we find very helpful! Shoe repairs can take several weeks if special supplies need to be ordered and depending on how busy it is. This is a very popular, longstanding, local small business that I would certainly recommend.

We held a birthday function here and it was a truly fantastic evening! The service provided by the staff in both organising the function and on the night was friendly and very helpful. The set menu was reasonably priced compared to other restaurants and the food was absolutely delicious.

The favourite meal of the night was the salt and pepper squid. In fact, this meal was so good that we have returned several times specifically for this meal. This is the best salt and pepper squid we have tried in our opinion!

There are three downsides we found to this restaurant. 1) It is not completely disability accessible given the steepness and unevenness of the exterior 'rock'-formed ramp. 2) We had to go outside the restaurant then back in through another door to access the toilets. On a freezing cold and raining night in the hills this was not ideal. 3) it is quite a long drive away through the hills - if if were closer we would probably go every week!

Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This service purportedly allows you to locate a spare part or sell your car by instantly communicating with nearly 40 'Hotline 40' member auto parts businesses in one go.

I attempted to sell my car through this service on the suggestion of one of the auto parts businesses I spoke to. I filled out the 'sell your car' form on their website and waited. After weeks, I have not had even ONE single communication from any of their members at all. What should have saved me time has actually cost me time and frustration. I wish I had simply called each wrecker individually. I don't know what this service is like for locating spare parts. However, in terms of trying to sell my car, I have found this service to be very disappointing.

We recently had new tyres fitted on our family car at Jacobs Tyres in Blackwood. We chose Jacobs because they offered the cheapest price compared to the other businesses we phoned. They did a great job and the staff member I dealt with was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. As mentioned, the cost was cheaper than other tyre stores. They also had signs up saying they are a 'female friendly' accredited business and I certainly found this to be the case. The whole process was quick and easy!

This is a great little hair salon in Blackwood that deserves more recognition. It is not one of those super fancy salons with shiny posters and weird lighting that serve champagne and charge through the roof for it. Instead, Urban Spirit is an inviting salon with a 'down-to-earth' feeling that focuses on quality and good service. The hairdressers here are friendly and do an excellent hair cut every time. They listen to what you'd like and follow it. Each time I come out happy with my hair. The cost is also much better value than others I have been to recently. I would highly recommend Urban Spirit!

Muratti Cakes & Gateaux certainly make absolutely delicious cakes! For our last three special events we have ordered cakes from this business because of the excellent taste and quality of the cakes. The black forest gateaux was particularly nice and received many compliments from guests.

However, as other reviewers have mentioned, the prices are expensive. The service has been good but not great each time. The shop itself is well-presented and is usually very busy with customers having coffee and cake.

Overall, I would recommend Muratti Cakes & Gateaux for special functions.

I attended a birthday function here in the upstairs function room. It was a fantastic evening that everyone enjoyed. The service was excellent and the staff were very happy, friendly and accommodating.

The food was a set menu with limited choices but was delicious and well presented. It was a little expensive in my opinion, but consistent with what other restaurants charge for functions.

The tables and the room in general were well presented. There was a bar in the function room and a nice little balcony outside. Unfortunately, the upstairs function room is not disability accessible (up a long, narrow staircase).

Overall, I would recommend the Hyde Park Tavern for a function.

My family has been shopping here for party supplies for decades. My parents went here and now I shop here. They have a fantastic range of balloons, streamers, table decorations and all manner of party supplies. It makes it very easy to stick to a theme or colour coordinate.

I have found the service to be great each time and have never had to wait long for service. The last two occasions, the staff have prepared our helium balloons with attached table weights exactly as wanted, quickly and without fuss. The biggest problem is getting the balloons into the car!

I also just have to say that after years and years of comments on the aged exterior paintwork, we were very pleased to see it has finally been repainted! Well done Peter Van!

This is a fantastic local hardware store. Although small in size, it packs in a surprising range of products. It is often (but not always!) more expensive than bigger stores like Bunnings. However, it is so much easier and faster going just up the road to the local Banner for a 'quick' item needed, than traveling all the way to Marion! It has a loyalty card - but I always forget to sign up!

Where this store outshines the competition is in customer service. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and more than happy to help you pick out the right product for your needs. Depending on how busy it is, I generally have staff approaching me asking if I need any assistance almost as soon as I arrive! In the 'trade' area, they also cut wood or other materials to size while you wait.

This store has recently merged with Mitre 10 to become 'Banner Mitre 10'. I sincerely hope the good service continues!

I had several broken old fans and heaters taking up space that I wanted to get rid of. However, I could not find a single service that would take them without me having to pay a fee for the privilege. On a hunch, I took them to Daws Rd Recycling Centre hoping they would simply take them for me.

Not only did I not have to pay a fee, but they paid me about $15 for the scrap metal! A great bonus since I was not expecting it at all!

It was very busy and there was a long queue. However, the service was fantastic and the staff were helpful. I would recommend this business for getting rid of odd scrap metal at your house (and getting a few dollars while you're at it!).
