This is not the usual medical practice I go to, but it was the weekend and I needed to see a GP. I noticed that the review guidelines say "Don't make negative personal comments - direct your review at the business, not a particular employee". This is difficult to do, as I went to see a GP and she is the reason why I'm giving this medical practice such a low rating.

First of all, the reception staff are professional and excellent. I found the waiting room to be satisfactory.

The GP I went to see said to me, "Tell me what's wrong." I began by saying, "Let me explain my situation to you" and she replied by saying, "No, don't. Just tell me what's wrong. Tell me why you're here." I was surprised to say the least. And she was opening and reading her (snail) mail during our consult, while I was explaining my illness.

She didn't seem to care that I was unwell, didn't even try to diagnose me, didn't prescribe any course of treatment at all (didn't even tell me to rest, keep my fluids up etc). In the five minutes (maybe even less) we were together, the general gist of her attitude was, "I don't really care about you, there's nothing I can do for you, here take a medical certificate and be on your merry way." Now I did need a medical certificate, but I certainly would have liked a diagnosis and some medical advice.

Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this medical centre, nor can I recommend this particular GP to others. Perhaps the other GPs in this practice are more professional and caring.
