This review is for Emerald Osteopathy, Emerald VIC

I've been going to Dr Patrick Kuhn osteopath for about a year and I've been really happy with my treatments. I used to experience significant pain and tension in my neck and back but since having treatments with Dr Kuhn the pain has noticeably eased and I feel a lot more comfortable. The appointments are not rushed and the treatment is given with a reasonable amount of time - from about 20 mins plus. If tight and sore muscles are an issue for you, a few treatments with Dr Kuhn will soon have you feeling better. The clinic is also child friendly.

This review is for Belgrave Bakery, Belgrave VIC

I've been buying food from this wonderful bakery for about 12 years. I love their Kaiser bread rolls, they are crusty, tasty, fresh and are the best I've tried. My other favourite is their apples pies. I've tried apple pies from other bakeries where they cost a lot more but the pies from this bakery are also the best I've had. Their savoury pies are also delicious, the staff usually serve quickly and they are pleasant. The main thing that stands out is that this bakery is unassuming and not as done up as others close by but the food is good quality and very reasonably priced for what you get.

This review is for Dulux Trade Centre, Scoresby VIC

We recently visited this paint centre to seek painting advice and buy products and we were very impressed. The staff were friendly and helpful and we left the store feeling confident that we had bought the best tools and quality products required for our painting jobs. In particular we asked about the requirements for a paint job we haven't done before and the staff member was very helpful in explaining what to do and we were also given a comprehensive brochure. One of the really cool things they can do is if you provide the name of a paint brand and colour - going back as far as about 50 years, they can mix it up for you. A certain amount needs to be spent to access trade prices but you don't have to be a tradie to shop there. The prices may not necessarily compare with the large hardware retailers but the range of quality products and helpful customer service is really good and sometimes that works out to be more beneficial than saving a few dollars.

This review is for The Health Arts College, Box Hill VIC

The Student Clinic at The Health Arts College is a great facility to access affordable Massage, Aromatherapy, Relexology or Kinesiology (use of muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body's structural, chemical, emotional or other energy, to assist the bodys own healing mechanisms). Prices start from just $2.00 a session with the maximum cost of $20.00. I have experienced the Kinesiology, and while it's not the same as going to someone who is already up and running, I've still found the sessions beneficial. Clinic times are limited to day appointments during the week however there are also some Saturday appointments. *The costs and clinic times may change as time goes on.

This review is for Pinewood Chicken Bar, Mount Waverley VIC

This used to be a really good place to buy takeaway chicken but after not having eaten here for a few years I was dissapointed in the food quality. The chicken was a little dry, some parts such as the wings were over cooked and the meat was too salty. I did not have chips so I can't comment on those, rather I had the roasted veggies which were almost cold and far too oily. I guess the business has changed owners and the food is not nearly as good as it used to be. Prices were in line with what you would normally pay in a charcoal chicken shop.

This review is for T2 Tea, Wantirna VIC

verified email - 11 May 2013

T2 is an oasis of tranquility amidst the stressful atmosphere at Knox City that restores mind and body. The staff are knowledgeable - some more than others and there is a huge range of tempting teas and intriguing blends. Even the way the shop is laid out is both calming and uplifting from the moment you walk in. There are samples usually of hot and cold teas to try and even if the tea isn't what you would normally drink, they taste lovely, the quality is evident and sometimes it's good to try something new. Yes I agree the tea is pricey but you get such a good quality tea it really is worth the cost. Good quality tea is something I'm willing to pay for, and you can buy a 100gms of tea for about $12.00 which unless you guzzle it every day, lasts quite a while

This review is for Julie Tulloch Soul Centred Psychotherapist/Counsellor, Ferntree Gully VIC

verified email - 07 May 2013

I concur with what was written about Julie in the previous review. After going through a lot of trauma I needed to find someone help me overcome the pain and stress of my situation. I went to another counsellor who claimed to be highly effective but I found that I was paying a lot of money for a chat but wasn't getting any results or relief. Julie is an excellent listener and she is also very understanding. As soon as I met her I felt very at ease and comfortable with makes for a better counselling experience. Julie uses a variety of techniques to help you explore what's underneath or causing your issues and she also helps you release the trauma. I've only seen her a few times and already I'm feeling a lot better. Her prices are really good considering the amount of work and time she puts into her sessions.

This review is for Green Forest Fish & Chips, Upwey VIC

verified email - 07 May 2013

I've struggled to find good fish and chips in the Dandenong Ranges. I recently tried Green Forest F&C for the first time and I was suitably impressed. The wait was lengthy but it was a Friday night and they were extremely busy but they do have a lot of staff on deck so the wait is reduced. The quality of the fish and chips was excellent. The chips were the nicest I've ever eaten, and even when they went cold they stayed crisp. The fish was a little lacking in flavor but that's what I would anticipate in a F&C shop due to the fish being frozen. The only thing I wonder though is if their quality is consistent.

This review is for Cannings Free Range Butchers, Kew VIC

verified email - 25 Apr 2013

I went out of my way to visit this shop to buy sausages. You would think that finding a decent snag would be relatively easy but that hasn't really been our experience until now. We have found a couple of places with reasonably good snags but the snags from Cannings are the best we have tried so far. They are tasty without being too salty, and when cooked they don't ooze with fat. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the prices are really good too.

This review is for Siam Village, Mount Waverley VIC

We enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance at the this restaurant, the décor is nice. The staff served us well and when I returned my dish back to the kitchen as I don't like raw bean shoots in a cooked meal, they didn't make a fuss. Although the restaurant wasn't overly busy, we waited quite a while for our mains but maybe that was due to take ways. I wasn't all that impressed with the Pad Thai as it seemed to lack flavour but others on the table were happy with their meals. I've eaten better and worse Thai food.
