This is a nice sleek traditional Italian cafe tucked in a shop front near david jones. The chai tea here is lovely - not a powder blend but thoughtfully composed of all the raw spices served in a tea pot not overly sweet. Coffee is delish too. About $7 a savoury dish and $6 cakes of course you can buy a few little itslian biscuits too. Moody dark ambience - can squeeze a pram in - nice to get away from the drone of the shopping centre - only thing is that it's cash only which I feel is not right in a shopping centre

Blech! This is the most disgusting product I've ever had - some half melted frozen yoghurt confection. The flavours - cheesecake etc are lame you can hardly taste it. All fake produced with flavouring. There is toppings you can add as well but these are unappetising - muesli canned berries etc - sold by weight it's pricy too. There are uncomfortable stools to sit on right in front of the bar but it's not a nice place to hang about

This is a cool place full of pastry delicacies! Not exorbitantly proved about $3 a serve. There is so much variety however it's difficult to choose which croissant brioche or Danish to have! There are a few tables to take a seat and dine in

This place is über funky. You don't have a waitress serving you but simply go up to the counter (different ones for pasta and pizza and dessert) - the idea is that your pasta will be made in front of you and you take it back to table - in real life your standing at the counter waiting for ten minutes missing the association of your friends at the table. Also they don't take your name so when your order is up there is confusion as to is that yours or someone else's. Pizza orders get a buzzer so you can take this back to table. Pasta tasty small servings though. The desserts were delicious - cute little continental style concoctions served in jars. When you arrive you are given a card which everything is charged to do you can settle your bill at end of night. I can see how this would work in the evening when you want to wander and meet ppl but for a get together with friends for a catch up it doesn't

Approximate cost: $18

Great fish and chippery! Friendly staff. Great atmosphere - right on the pier. Yummy Hobart cider sold there. Clean toilets. A funky bar kind of atmosphere with long tables and bench seats. Did not feel rushed - big servings- delicious salads and succulent scallops. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

The staff are very friendly. Grilled fish about $7. When we were there they had free battered fish to taste which was awesome. Ordered three fish bites - they were huge!!! At only $2 each pretty cheap - pretty oily though too which was a shame. As this is primarily a fresh fish shop there is no where to sit to eat it then and there. There is a bench though.

This review is for Madelines Bakery And Cafe, Diamond Creek VIC

If you want a traditional bakery fix whilst in diamond creek this is your place and by comparison to bakeries these days it's pretty cheap. But the fare is of lower quality than what we expect - the doughnuts are irregular shape, a little browner than usual and the pink icing is a weird cherry flavour!
