this place looks fairly unassuming- informal cafe dining, neighbourhood japanese. The food is really interesting- its mostly different kinds of rolls- baked, crispy and traditional. they have a few of the standards; teryaki, agedashi tofu , soba etc etc, but go the rolls. they are quite innovative and, dare i say, 'fusion'. its cheap and tasty and ill be going back
Approximate cost: $14
this is our favourite yum cha (beating chinatown syd/mel/bris) its fresh and authentic and generous and cheap!!. no waiting (well next to no waiting) the toilets are clean, and the food is ALWAYS coming. fab fab fab
its seems to me that the later it gets, the better the food seems. it certainly gets busier as the evening wears on- unfortunately that sometimes comes across in the service which can be brusque- but hey, its cheap and cheerful and tasty, and importantly, its reliable. pide is good, kebabs are yum
Approximate cost: $12
i stop here for takeaway often. the sushi train is cheap and fresh, although depending on when you turn up sometimes there is not much variety. They are more than happy to prepare to order- and have a menu of the sushi train items. I like the eggplant sushi rolls and the tempura pumpkin- only $2.90 a portion
hoochie mama is busy. its near RPA hospital and sydney uni- this may the the reason that the service is functional but not at all warm. the food is fine- its standard cafe fare, the coffee is good. Nothing much to write home about but is reliable and has a varied menu so all diners are catered for.
Approximate cost: $15
my parents have lunch here a few times a month. its not cheap, but generally pretty good. it was poor on this occasion. Over $15 for a sandwich without what i ordered on it. we advised the staff, but that seemed to make no difference. its ok, but given todays experience we will not be back
Approximate cost: $15-25
the meals are good and big. the sandwiches are made to order and fresh. The issue with this place is the service is rude and the coffee is really terrible. Despite loving the fruit bread, i would not recommend this place as you cant drink the coffee and are treated really poorly
you know when you are drinking coffee from here- it packs a punch. none of this wishy washy brown milky waste-of-time. the snacks are fairly standard, but the chocs are rich, delicate and yum. what a combo.
the people here are really nice...and the location is pleasant. the only thing is is quite pricey. A takeaway coffee cost me over $4, which is quite a bit in parramatta and for takeaway. Granted, the coffee was good, but not that good, and certainly not significantly better than the competition
what you see is what you get. i love clems. its reliable and consistent. the bbq chickens are tasty and succulent. sides are good also- we love the baby potatoes and the vege gratin.
