Sunny Harbour Seafood has evolved over the years, from a small eatery on Forest St to the multi-storeyed building near the interchange. Have been here a few times, but the taste and food just isn't as good as other yum cha places. Price is generally okay relative to other places; services are decent too. But there're better yum cha places out there that's for sure.
Sunny Harbour Seafood Restaurant in my opinion doesn't make very good yum Cha, I've been a few times and I haven't been too impressed. The other non yum Cha food is pretty average too,
Sunny Harbour Seafood restaurant in Hurstville is a fantastic local Chinese restaurant. The quality of the food here was superb, the portions were huge, and it was certainly value for money. The customer service was average and could be worked on. Overall, I was very impressed with my food at the restaurant and I will be back for this reason only. It is very popular here, therefore bookings are essential.
this is our favourite yum cha (beating chinatown syd/mel/bris) its fresh and authentic and generous and cheap!!. no waiting (well next to no waiting) the toilets are clean, and the food is ALWAYS coming. fab fab fab
It's always a hassle to get seating there but the food is very nice and has a lot of variety. The staff are friendly and always smiling. The prices are decent for such a busy establishment. The weekend and dinner rushes are the busiest times so avoid them and you're golden.
I spent one lunchtime in this restaurant and found the food to be lacking in the authenticity of the Chinese cuisine. This is ironic as crowds of customers flock here throughout the day and seem satisfied by the food.
The dim sum are very normally quality and are not special and yummy, however, they are a very busy place. I am not very keen to try it again.
I love going to this place fro yum cha on Saturdays. Its always busy, even on weekdays. Having to wait for a table is a bother but the turn over is so high the food is always fresh and the girl at the door is so nice. The duck pancakes are better than what you get in china town.
Good place for weekend yumcha, place is quite big and good for large groups of people or family. Large selection of food on bamboo containers; good porridge and dumplings. Some waiter may not speak English well but you could always use body language and fingers.
Approximate cost: $15
After the moved from Forest street, I found that the food there are not so yummy anymore and the price increased quite a bit, but still a good place for weekend yum cha
Approximate cost: $7
