The only really positive thing I have to say about this medical centre is that they don't have a long wait time anymore. Of course, that's only because they charge to see doctors now! Bulk billing is only for those with health care cards.
Some of the doctors are good but it's really hit and miss. There are two that I really like, but one of them I won't see anymore as I find her dismissive of my concerns and at times patronising.
The front desk staff are nice enough, and the treatment rooms are ok. I don't like the toilets though. You have to leave the office and enter a code in the door to get in - once inside it's dingy and lit with blue lights. Some of the doors don't work and it's far from clean. Just yuck. If you have to give a urine sample you actually have to go out to the gross toilets and carry the sample through the waiting room back to the treatment room!

Approximate cost: $30.00 - $45.00

I went in a few months ago for a style cut - nothing complicated just long simple layers - but I have curly hair which many hairdressers find difficult to cut.
To start with, the shampoo girl was a bit rude but I won't complain much as it was 5.30pm on Saturday and she did then job pretty well. She was probably just really tired.
The hairdresser was nice and friendly without being pushy which I was thrilled with. He did an excellent job on the cut itself, but the blowdry was not good. My hair was so frizzy I had to spend 20 minutes with my GHD when I got home to make it look nice. However, I have a fair bit of knowledge about hair care and I noticed the hairdryer was NOT a good enough quality for a salon. Without a great hairdryer it's impossible to get a great blowdry so it's not a reflection on his skills - it means the salon is cutting corners in their budget.
I also didn't like the products they used on my hair. They were the cheapest salon products available, I use FAR more expensive and better quality products at home!
Overall it was ok, but for $67.00 I won't go back. There are much better salons around at that price range.

Approximate cost: $67.00

I've visited Just Cuts in Maroubra Junction twice this year, just for a basic trim each time.
On the positive side, they are a no-fuss salon who are ok with very basic requests. You don't need to make an appointment, there's no pressure to buy products, they don't chatter at you incessantly (which I find annoying and uncomfortable), they do the job fast, and they are super cheap.
However, there's a lot I don't like. For a start, they use their own brand of hair products which I don't feel comfortable using at all. I usually wash my hair first then go in with wet hair. Also, they don't seem to have the equipment or advanced skills required for a great style cut and colour. I only ever get a basic trim, and even that is just satisfactory. It doesn't seem to last as long as when I get a trim elsewhere. I guess they have time restrictions because they don't seem to pay much attention to detail.
As a student I really can't afford to go to an expensive salon every time, so I I alternate and go to just cuts every second time, just to avoid split ends. It's ok for that but I wouldn't recommend it for anything else.

Approximate cost: $26.00

I was a regular at this salon for many years and it's truly the best I've ever experienced. The atmosphere is really cool and so are the hairdressers. From the minute you walk in you they make you as comfortable as possible, bring you free coffee (nice stuff, from a cafe) and most importantly they really listen to what you want. They keep details of your last cut on their database and when you go in they repeat what you had last time and ask you if you want the same again or if you'd like a change. This is REALLY helpful to me as I often have trouble describing what I want hairdressers to do.
The staff are talented, friendly and knowledgeable, and do a fantastic cut every time. I've had many different styles there, and when I'm unsure of what I want they've given me professional hairdressing magazines to look through to pick a style. They will always advise you on the most flattering colour and cut for your face so you don't make a silly mistake just because you saw a haircut that looks good on someone else - they adapt your idea of what you want and cut it to suit YOU.
I'm a natural brunette but was blonde for several years, and the staff at Catwalk are truly artists when it comes to colour. Their hair colouring skills are truly outstanding, they can make you look more natural than you would imagine is possible. They also suggest the best in-salon treatments as to minimise damage to your hair, and tell you the price first. The products they use on your hair in-salon are of the highest quality and the hairdressers will tell you what products they are using, why they are using them and give detailed advice on how to re-create your look at home. They are also really helpful in suggesting products to use at home but not pushy about making sales.
The only issue I have with this salon is the price. For what you get I think their prices are totally fair, but it's not by any means cheap. I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for with hair, and Catwalk is the perfect example.
I don't visit there anymore as I've returned to study and don't have much money, but even so I'm strongly considering going back and skimping on other things so I can afford it. I've been totally unable to find another hairdresser who can make my hair look as good as catwalk always did, and I've tried many. If you're not absolutely dirt poor (like me right now) I'd say their prices are 100% worth it.
