Hi I was ask to rewrite review with more detail. My last bad episode was at grand mercure busselton WA. I booked a studio room months in advance and was told they were scattered through resort. I looked at reviews on trip advisor and seen that studios close to road were noisy. So I emailed grand mercure and requested a room away from road as was advised they were noisy and that as we were coming from NSW wanted to relax as a holiday. Tthey said they will try there hardest but no guarantees. Now the studios have a kitchenette, spa bath and nice big bed so was happy with hat for just the two of us. We arrived and were put into
1. A disabled studio no bath at all, no room for toiletries, and was like a hospital bathroom.
2. The room was right next to the laundry ( which this is where grand mercure wash there pool towels up until 10 at night) and no sound proofing. Hmmmmmmmm noisy to say the least.
So I was not happy and went back to reception and they said that is all hey had. I called accor and their first reply to me was it is a public holiday call back in 3 days. I said no and asked them to look into. But nothing at first until I kept calling. So then basically they said they could move me to another room in 3 days as they were all booked out. Well anyway I left it at that as my husband and I were arguing at this point as he NEVER wanted to buy Accor ( $20,000 a GOLD member) in the first place. Also we had watched others check into regular studio rooms at this point not sure how but we met someone on a winery trip who had. Anyway 2 days later a studio room was available at 7.30 am. So we changed and all was ok from then. When I returned I wrote more letters to Accor asking for some kind of compensation for first 2 nights, I ask loads of questions like why wasn't I called and told we were put into a disabled room and given other options. Anyway they just finally replied and said basically no compensation as they did all they could. So I am again very upset as this is just another incident. Some of Accor is ok but they do not live up to what they say. That you will always be looked after and get the best rooms etc. o and did I mention disabled bathroom leaked into bedroom on carpet and they new about this. Very very dangerous. So there is one story a true story. My suggestion is look elsewhere. Oh yes and best part when we signed up we were given 2 for 1 cruise voucher and was told best price. Not I found better prices on the net and showed them and they would not even match it. This voucher was part of the reason we joined. Well it's expired as not good value and we will never be able to use. They tell you what you want when they sell they get you so excited and when you say no bam they offer you another incentive. Look elsewhere
