I attended this bakery to buy a loaf of rye sourdough. The bakery was a popular spot so trusted to buy a loaf to take home. Found the loaf to be so hard ---like a brick---had a major difficulty cutting a slice--very hard work even with an electric knife---I thought a chain saw might be efficient but don't use such in my kitchen. Anyone with a disability would be in great difficulty cutting this bread. Great taste though--once you fight through it.....

Approximate cost: $8.

I purchased a UBD Touring Map at a local newsagent in Ballarat--this a fold out map of Ballarat Grampians and Spa Country (map 382 edition 13). When I got home I folded open the map gently and found the folded corners were breaking open. I rang the company that was listed on the back and talked to a person who said that only capital cities get the better quality waterproof paper for their foldout maps. She suggested I return it to the newsagent but I am sure all the maps are the same for Ballarat so I spent a lot of time covering the map with clear tape so it can be used without quickly falling apart. I remember when foldout maps took a lot of use to fall apart at the folds--this one on first opening! Will never purchase again from this company as cities outside capitals are in a different quality category and the person on the phone was disinterested.

I have attended Andrew Broomfields acupuncture clinic for many years and find his work to be one of the very best I have found after many years of benefiting from acupuncture in three states .....He is very personable, easy to communicate with, empathic, comprehensive in approach to all areas of the body--all meridians --in summary very experienced. I know he gets good results and Colac is lucky to have him there.

Even though I live in the Ballarat area I chose to deal with this Colac firm (they are only an hour away really) and have bought several items, ride on mower and chainsaw, plus several parts needed over the years. They are very knowledgeable, down to earth and helpful at all times. They have their equipment displayed in Murray Street and a service area a few steps away. They also sell used mowing equipment. Their prices are the fairest I have seen anywhere. They drove to Ballarat to service my mower at no extra cost, that's service. Ask to talk to Sonia or Adam--the two I know --you will get straight talk and good advice.

This therapy center is for acupuncture and chinese herbal medicine. The therapist is Dr. Adele Gordon. She is very knowledgeable in all areas of her field and is a real human being--great to talk to....She also works some of her time in Bacchus Marsh. She really takes an interest in her clients and will research widely to find answers that are natural remedies and this is so important in todays world of artificial 'cover up the symptom' approach to health concerns. Her pricing is very fair.

I bought a wired modem recently and often drop in to ask questions re computers and internet connections and find the two gentlemen who work there to be very helpful and knowledgeable. This is a popular shop with people I know as the prices are right and customer service is unbeatable. And they take the time with me, as a novice in many computer areas, and that means a lot.

Just briefly as on hold with Telstra ....this shop is generally my favorite for food and appliances. I Always check it first before buying anywhere else. The set out is basic as generally no staff to consult but the savings are very considerable. Its laid out like a warehouse and goods come and go so availability is not a strong point but I have purchased more from Aldi than any department store in recent years. And they have a great prepaid mobile sim just introduced. Cant praise them enough except occasionally one of their products has to be returned but the more expensive items like TV's and computers are great.....

This firm provides broadband and phone services. I signed up for a dongle for wireless broadband only for--- 24 months. I was told at the desk that this dongle would work on any computer. I immediately took it to a relative who was troubled by his lack of broadband as his server was down and it would not set up on either his PC or his laptop. This was a major reason for purchasing as well as I wanted a spare dongle for my computer at another location. It would not set up after repeated attempts so next day I returned it and said it didnt work and it was good that there was a 10 day cooling off period offered. The same young woman, who set up the contract, politely said it was cancelled then, no worries attitude, and asked me to sign a cancellation form. I repeated the words --10 day cooling off and she did not say otherwise. Next day I get a call from her saying I owe a cancellation fee of over $100 and that the 10 day cooling off did not apply to me. She could never say why it did not apply to me but on examining the contract I could see in extremely fine print-- that was not legible to me when signing at the counter-- that the cooling off applied to door to door sales. The words 10 DAY COOLING OFF were written in the largest letters on the contract. This was clearly an attempt to mislead the customer who wasnt carrying a magnifying glass. I wear bifocals and can read normal print. For me if the device doesnt work as told it would then a return should be automatic and no fees should be requested. Clearly the staff member did not know if the dongle worked on all systems and just gave assurance that was meaningless.
There has been since no paper work to my address requesting the cancellation fee--just phone calls which I find distressing as nothing of this fee has been mentioned when I am in their office as I was a few days ago when they sent me a bill for service when there is no service and it is cancelled and the dongle is in their hands as I returned it the next day.
