Since the last review in 2011 this woolies has had a MASSIVE make-over. It is slick , modern , massive and easy to navigate. It has a bright airy feel is nice to shop in. The fresh food section is pretty impressive.... good range and good looking produce. I love the health food isle there, well stocked and on par with health food shops for price. Self service is a breeze - I've never, ever waited to be served there. There is some awesome indigenous art decorating the exterior of the building too which I appreciate.

Walking into Woolworths in River Street Ballina is like stepping into a time machine and going back to the 1980's. Their store has definitely seen better days. Old turnstyles, dirty shelving, and only a fraction of the range of products carried by the Ballina Fair Woolies, it's a shop that should only be visited out of necessity.
The management of this store have really dropped the ball. It wouldn't take much effort to bring it up to scratch. The only modern aspect to the shop are the trolleys that require a $1 or $2 coin to use them. I hate to say it, but they are one of the least spectacular Woolies that I've ever been to.
Thankfully Ballina has the Ballina Fair Woolies to shop at - they're excellent!
