So far as the food goes it's great but service is just ok the best thing about this place is the basement grungey alternative feel about it. I dig it

Recently attended a friend's birthday dinner at Verve. The atmosphere is nice, though it can be loud at times, and the staff are good and attentive. Due to it being a Saturday night, our food did take quite a while to arrive, but when it did it was hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend, particularly because they offer vegetarian and coeliac-friendly options

While calling itself a cafe, it is closer to being a restaurant. One of the few places in Brisbane that I know of to get really good pasta.

Being a little cafe downstairs you would think it would be more suited to some sort of seedy bar rather than a fine establishment, but it is all part of the character.

The Verve is a hidden gem - it is a bar specialising in Ciders and the food is always great. It's a great place to go for all occasions and we love the relaxed and friendly vibe.

Verve is one of those hidden gems that you need to know about. It's sort of hidden underneath a theatre and it's really in a dining area of the city - but that's part of its charm! There are constantly changing specials and a staple menu as well. I have not been disappointed with a single dish I've tried here - and I've tried a lot of them! When its busy service can be a bit lacking but that's understandable. The value is superb as well. Only complaint would be the toilets. They're up the back, via a couple of sets of stairs and always a little smelly and scary. Minor complaint though!

Verve has character and value for money! My boyfriend and I came to have dinner here once and were amazed at the quality of the meals and how generous the servings were for the price paid. The service too couldn't be flawed. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with interesting artwork hung on the brick walls. The meals we've tried include the Slow Roasted Tomato Conchiglia, Spicy Chorizo Gnocchi, Lasagna and the fish of the day (salmon). Everyone of those dishes were lovely and recommend them.

I loved the restaurant and cider house so much that I celebrated my birthday here. The staff were really helpful and accommodating.

All in all, I will keep coming back to Verve and always recommend this place to friends and family.

Verve is a pizza and cider bar in a basement off Edward St - it's pretty easy to find and has a bustling and cosy atmosphere. We rang up to book around 3pm on a Friday and were told they were pretty much booked out, except bar seats - which we were happy to take. We were pleasantly surprised as they didn't even turn out to be seats at the bar, rather two stools at a small table - totally adequate for a couple.

Service here is really what sets this place apart. Their menu is extensive and has lots of different, appetizing options without doing anything too different. The other great thing is if you are into cider, have dinner here ASAP. They have around 30-40 different ciders on offer, and probably almost as many beers. It's a great opportunity to try something different, and they all range from affordable to expensive.

The staff are exemplary. Our meals all arrived pretty quickly considering the place was packed, and when our dessert order was lost, we had the maitre de come over and personally apologised, and he gave us the desserts on the house. Very, very impressive.

Verve doesn't do the most groundbreaking food, but if you're after delicious drinks and staff who genuinely care about each and every customer, then there is no way you would leave here disappointed.

I had lunch at verve recently with a friend after not having visited for a while and I was impressed with the food and the friendly service at Verve cafe. I had some bread to start followed by a vegetarian eggplant risotto. The risotto was well cooked and very flavor some. Cost wise I found Verve very reasonable. This restaurant is also in the entertainment book!

Pretty busy and loud, but that gives it a lively vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food arrived promptly. The food was good, if a little overpriced. The wine list is small, but then it's a fairly casual establishment. I was there on a date, and I would recommend it for people doing the same.

Food was lovely, a few items a little overpriced but mainly nice. I visited with a large group, and we were essentially asked to leave after being there for about an hour (even with a booking). It didn't help that it took 30 mins for the food to come. Other than that mishap, the atmosphere was nice, very noisy though- as a large group you couldn't hear the people more than a few seats away from you. I would recommend for a couple or smaller group.
