These guys are a cut above the rest , outstanding service , on time ,polite , and nothing is a problem . And sure everyone has a bad day ( well not these guys , I'm talking about the negative review , someone else left ) because I have worked with them , and been on jobs where they have worked & they are SO GOOD .You will not be disappointed , if & when you need help , i never write reviews , but i had to when i saw a negative one left , keep up the good work to all the staff, you do a great job .

Wow! I’m astounded by these two awful reviews here. As a; home stager, turnkey furnishing provider and interior designer, I use The Van That Can whenever possible. Their flexibility, problem solving and trouble shooting abilities put them above and beyond any other moving service. I’m most impressed that the team is solid and staff turnover is minimal and I have developed rapport with these legends. Great company!

I recently contracted ‘The Van That Can’ for a removals job. All over, the experience was beyond unsatisfactory.

The job quote did not take into account my individual house moving needs and I was left booking a service that did not cater for my factual loading volume. Not an optimal situation. Particularly, when moving long distance.

Price-wise, The Van that Can was $34 AUD per hour more expensive than my best offer on the job and driving times were actually charged at the same amount as loading times.

However, the real ordeal only unfolded when I actually called the company to provide them with a feedback on their service.

Instead of the acknowledgement of a potential weaknesses in their service provision and an aim at retaining a satisfied customer, my complaint was met with dismissal and the refusal to assume any kind of responsibility. Without providing for any sort of common ground or reasoning, the very prolonged conversation would move in circles.

The culmination of it all: ‘The Van that Can’ can obviously not even find it in them to end an uncomfortable discourse in professional manner and when trying to end the already prolonged conversation in civilised manner, I was actually hung up on (!). Wow!

The only reason, I am giving the ‘The Van that Can’ a two-star rating, instead of a one-star one, in the present review is that the two removalists themselves were actually outstanding in their service delivery on the day – courteous and attentive, they did an excellent job and I would have recommended the service in every way would this have been representative of the experience in its entirety.

This company quoted me 2.5 hours with 1 van to move a small 1 bedroom apartment 500 metres up the street. This was after I called them, explained what I had, and even sent photos of all my belongings.

Then on the day, without my approval, they roped in 3 vans and 6 people and it took them a total of 6.5 hours to complete. For a 1 bedroom apartment only 2 streets over! And on top of that, literally thousands of dollars of damage to a brand new table and bed head that I had only just purchased (and am still paying off).

Had service lifts at both apartments that were booked in advanced for the company to use. I initially refused to pay, but then I was harassed by phone and e-mail, constant judgements on my character, blackmailed (would only lodge insurance claim for damaged furniture if I paid bill in full), lied to incessantly (blamed building manager for letting other apartment use lift preferentially - asked building manager who showed me CCTV footage where other apartment didn't even start until after they were finished).

I eventually paid because I couldn't handle the harassment any further - and then he never lodged the insurance claim after promising me that if I paid in full, he would. This was 3 months ago. Just called back and asked why I haven't heard anything about this - "oh I spoke to the guys and they said the damage was there before the move".

What a joke.

I recommend [redacted due to mention of alternative businesses by name] who I've used in the past - real men who know what they are doing and very reasonable, non-extortionist prices.

Lee has a small/medium sized van that is brillian for small moves or pickup/delivery of items of furniture. I've used him several times now and his service has always been efficient and great value. If you don't have a ute or can't move stuff yourself he is a great option
