We had our first visit to the silly seahorse yesterday and the kids had a ball. I love that we could see the kids from where we were sitting, the meals were reasonably healthy (nothing fried), staff were polite about reminders about wearing sock.. anyone with a 2 year old understand the hassle of getting them to understand why they must wear socks, toilets were clean .. would like a toddler seat and step perhaps for little people (there may have been one in another toilet however, just not the one we used). Loved the lounges, a wonderful idea for mothers that need to feed babies (would love to see a breastfeeding welcome here sticker up contact your local ABA group if you would like one of these).

Probably wouldn't hold a lot of interest for school age kids, but for my 2 and 3 year old it was perfect.

Cost wise its pretty reasonable, for adult and 2 and 3 year old entry and lunch with multiple drinks for us all it was about $45.. had I been better organised i would have taken water bottles for the kids and myself.

Overall a really good center, bright and clean. We will certainly visit again.

Hi Kinty,

Thank you for your lovely comments. We will be putting in toddler seats into the toilets I had never even thought about that (whioh is a suprise considering I have a toddler who uses one!) We have a breast feeding welcome here sticker from the ABA on our front door however it is a little hidden so I will contact them to get another and get it displayed in a more noticable place. Once again thankyou for your comments and we hope to see you soon at The Silly Seahorse.

Regards

The staff at this play centre are FANTASTIC! We visited here and left behind my daughters comforter and as soon as I got home I called the centre and they found it straight away and had it waiting when I came and picked it up!
The staff are all friendly and the play equipment was perfect for my daughter!
We will be back!

Approximate cost: $7.50

HI Joanne,

Thank you for your lovely comments. I know how important comforters are to little ones so we always make sure that we do our best to find and keep safe anything that has been left behind. We hope to see your daughter and her comforter again soon.

Kellie

Was at the silly seahorse today, the kids enjoyed their time there and so did my friends and I. We love how no matter where you sit in the cafe area you can see your kids at all times, Staff very friendly and the coffee and hot chocolate very good. Got very busy at lunch time but we didn't have to wait long for our food. We will be going back.

Approximate cost: $7.50

I've taken my kids to a few play centres and I have to say the Silly Seahorse is right up there with the best. They are really clean and the staff take an interest in the kids which is so nice, at a lot of places a lot of the play equipment is dirty and old and as for the staff, they just take your money and that's the end of it. Oh and the coffee there is AWESOME! I would definitely go back!

Hi Christine,

Thank you for your lovely comments I have passed them on to all our staff members.

Awesome Play centre!! I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the place, it's something I always look for. I have three young children and they were all accomodated for in the different areas of equipment, it was lovely just to sit back with a coffee and let the kids GO! Staff were friendly and very accomodating (i forgot socks).

Approximate cost: $20

My children love going to the silly seahorse. We have attended two birthday parties in recent weeks and found the attention to detail and the friendly staff refreshing. The set up makes it easy to see my children at all times and I am impressed with the cleanliness of the centre and all the equipment. Cafe and entry prices are very reasonable for the quality.

Approximate cost: $18.00 - 25.00

Hi there,

Thank you for your lovely comments they are greatly appreciated.

The quality of the service is in within reasonable time frame, needs new equipment, they have the same old equipment nothing new to play with. Expensive for entry and would only recommend for kids up to the age of 5 at the most, as there is nothing to do for over 5's.

I actually disagree with your comment regarding the price of entry, I have been to some playcentre where I have been charged $10.00 per child regardless of age.

Great for young children, always very clean and well maintained. I understand the policy in regards to not bringing in food but with my little ones under 12 months, I have them eating specific foods that i am not willing to compromise - is there flexibility with this? Also I notice that peanut butter is on the sandwich menu and this is one of the most high risk foods in regards to allergies. Also find the staff can be quite rude and abrupt.

Hi yes I totally agree with you that there should be No peanut butter at the playcentre, I mean who can really say when they made a peanut butter sandwich that the same knife hasnt been used for another sandwich. Also I have notice over the last few visits that the staff dont wear gloves when handling food. I saw one staff member scratch her head and then make a sandwich, very unhygience.

Hi Jenny,

Regarding the no outside food policy we do allow fruit to be bought in and we do accept baby food as well. Regarding the Peanut butter we do not serve it at the centre. We purchased the centre 6 months ago and the old owners did serve it (hence why it is on the main menu board) but from the day we took over we got rid of it.

Hi Jane,

Regarding the no gloves it is not a requirement for the staff to wear them (as per the food safety standards) however, we do follow a strict hand washing routine as well as a sanitation routine, before any food is handled we sanitise our hands (pumps are located at all food preperation areas). Regarding the staff member scratching their head I am unable to comment on this as I did not see it happen however, as a food safety supervisor we are very strict when it comes to food preperation.

Having watched this playcentre transform from the dreary old Buzy Kidz to the Silly Seahorse several years ago was lovely - however I think once again it's time for an update! Recently went there for a birthday party and nothing has changed - except the service was slower & the staff need to smile some more.

I agree... the staff dont smile much and given that it is a childrens play centre they could be more up beat! >:)
