Very wet miserable night, but the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Food was tasty, we feasted on the tapas menu. But they have also have pizza, steaks, sandwiches and burgers on the menu.
They have a large wine and beer menu plus cocktails.

Approximate cost: $Tapas $12

I looked this place up on the website, it says it is child friendly. I booked the place advising I had a 3 year old with us. When we arrived they had us on a bar table, really tall bar stools for a 3 year old. They could not move us due to being 'booked out.' We ordered our food and I asked at the time to have our son's food come out first. The staff were non committal. After waiting an hour for our meals, I went and said if you can just bring our sons meal out I don't care how long ours takes, she turned and stated that is not our policy, all meals come out together then walked away. I had to wait another 5 minutes before someone else came and asked if I needed assistance, I advised I was not happy and I have a 3 year old who will continue to cry until he has been given his meal. They finally decided to find out how long it would take (after realising there was a crying kid in the hotel) and promised it would be out straight away. 10 minutes later we got out below average meals. None of us finished them and we left. I was really disappointed I had bothered to look for a child friendly place and it very obviously wasn't

Overall it wasn't the greatest ever but it wasn't too bad. Service was friendly but not as fast as youd hope for. Meals were tasty and there were plenty of options for drinks. Nice place for a meal out.

This place would have to be the worst dining / pub experience in Newcastle! I have tried her several times and it always disappoints.

The Dockyard is consistent, friendly and has good food. My friend and I are regulars for lunch and the staff take extra time to explain specials and make sure we are comfortable. The menu and selection of wines and beers are great. And, once, just once, we complained about a meal - and they took us seriously, gave us vouchers and a sincere apology. What more could you ask for?

Food was good, service was ok, prices are alright - could be a little cheaper for what you get, but overall nice place to eat. We went through the week so we didnt have the wait like you would on the weekends.

Overall this place is not bad but just nothing out of the box. Service is really slow for food, min 1 hour on a weekend even if they are not busy, 1.5 hrs if they are. Good place to meet mates for a drink then move on to somewhere nice for lunch or diner.

Approximate cost: $20

This place has the best location overlooking the Newcastle Harbour. Has a great atmosphere through the day and fun through the night. I've enjoyed every meal I had here.
