We attended a non traditional wedding here this week. The staff are friendly, extra helpful & down-to-earth. The meals were delicious, the wine was excellent, the ambiance is a step into the past, but sympathetically modernised to retain the wonderful history of the Convent and do honour to the nuns who lived there once. Also popped into the cafe for a snack & again, lovely staff, great food for a fair price and little extras like minding my coffee while I dashed out to the toilet.

A beautiful old building which houses the Convent gallery, a gift shop and the Bad Habits cafe. It is a delight sipping coffee or something stronger and looking out at the surrounding garden. Some of the highlights have included the florentines and the devonshire tea.

The cafe is licensed, but we discovered during the Summer that they did not chill their beer glasses. My friend elected to drink from the bottle instead. I hope they are looking into chilling their glasses for next Summer. Nor was there adequate cooling; admittedly it was a brutally hot day.

The only other criticism, is not anyone's fault. The seating area is very small and so you may find that you arrive and there is not a table to spare. However, one can always enjoy the art work in the gallery or wander through the gardens until there is a free table.

The service is excellent and the staff are friendly and helpful. I look forward to many more visits. Make sure you allow lots of time so that you can enjoy the full experience.

Two aspects to the convent - the gallery itself and the cafe.

Staff for the gallery were great - informed and interested. If walking around galleries is your thing, then this is quite a nice place. It is setup for weddings and I can imagine it being a fantastic venue - lots of function space, well decked out.

Waiting staff at the convent were lovely and could not be more helpful. As a bucket list item, try the cheese cake there - its enormous calories well spent.

The Cafe is lovely and the surrounding gardens are amazing. Beautiful venue with an old heritage feel to it.

I was amazed when I visited the Convent! It's a fantastic place to visit, have a look around at the local artwork and make sure to grab some coffee! I probably had the best mocha here. The staff were incredible, really friendly and happy to talk to you about the place. I would come visit here again.

Great place to visit, eat, shop or stay. It's full of convent and local history, modern and local art and craft, and the cafe serves great brekky and coffee. I imagine this would be a lovely venue for a wedding - and there are many photos of such on the top level. It has real character and atmosphere - kids would feel a lot here.
