whenever I pass by here, I can smell the coffee of town.
The waitresses are so friendly and the coffee is so original and nice.
And the cake also country styled but yummy oz stuff.
We have been there are few times now are the staff are really great and the coffee is so yummy one of the best coffee places i have been to in Ballarat and i love the little shortbread they give you with the coffee

Dropped in for a coffe, the owner did not allow me to have sugar in my coffe, he challenged me that his coffee was so good that i wouldn't need sugar. He was right.

The same thing happened to me too and irrespective of whether a beverage requires sugar or not, it comes down to customer choice. How very arrogant to refuse this of a paying customer!
Yep, he did the same to me - I had to beg for sugar for my decaf - I simply cannot have my coffee without stevia or raw sugar - great coffee just don't like being prevented from having it my way. Now I buy their coffee to take home so it's perfect every time :)
coffee only (plus muffins and biscuits). the roaster/barista is good - does go on and on about his coffee if you let him. have never had a bad coffee. if all the locals go there and it's busy that means they are doing something right i think.

I read the other review about bad service/coffee and think I must have been one of the other customers on that day, getting great coffee and great service - ha ha. They care about their coffee and they're so friendly and helpful. Some visiting friends bought me coffee there and were told I could take it back if I didn't like it. Plus, it's fair trade coffee. I think this place is great.
