we took our recently arrived sons to this restaurant last wednesday and were shown to a very hemmed in table for 4. from the start we felt the waiters were under pressure and seemed to be unable to cope. they kept on interrupting our conversations in a crass manner and one lent right across me as i was sippng my wine and could have knocked the glass into my lip. scary. when ordering our meals i asked if the bowl of rice would be enough for two of us as the price was a hefty $4 dollars. the male waiter told us an emphatic yes that we should share. when the rice finally arrived not only was it tepid but the portion wasnt even enough for one small appetite. i ordered the massaman curry; my wife a stir fry ;my younger lad a beef curry while our elder lad chose the special quail dish. my wifes stit fry was OK. MY SONS BEEF CURRY WAS tiny and tepid. my elder sons quail meal was rediculous as it wouldnt have fed a quail and my massaman was also cold and small in quantity. the final straw though was when the waitress brought my wifes stir fry she managed to slop it all over my back and shoulder and down the fron of my very expensive going out shirt. she did apologise profusely for her accident and another waiter brought me $20 to dry clean my clothes. all in all our evening was very dissapointing but on leaving i spoke to the manager about the poor service and asked him how he could possibly ask $4 for such a miniscule portin of rice and why all of our food was served almost cold. he wasnt interested and told me that all businesses in hobart charged extra for rice [not true] he was dismissive and adopted a challenging attitude. good luck to him we wont be back
