We have lunch regularly at the Shamrock Hotel, they have an extensive menu to choose from. The service is friendly and fast, we've enjoyed every meal. It's a very popular spot for lunch, great atmosphere, there's even an open log fire.
If you like Guinness, or want to try a great pint of Guinness; this is the place to come, best in Hobart.

Approximate cost: $10

Okay first of all, their chicken parma is AMAZING! I had it one night around 6pm and it was dead quiet, and loved it so much I had to go back a few days later. Went later, so see if it was busier if that made a difference. Arrived arund 7-7:30 and only one or two other tables had people. So they are very quiet, which I love because it means good service. And, the parma was perfect again. Best I have ever had. Mean that.

Drinks/spirits are $5 each which is alway sreally nice, good price for sure.

The resturant isn't much to look at, some of the tables are wobbly but oh well, good food!!!! Highly recommend the chicken parma with pepper gravy on the side, mix with tomato sauce and use to dip your chips in - yum!

Oh and we also tried the steak and it was cooked perfectly!!

We went to Shamrock Hotel for lunch and decided to book as we understood that it might get quite busy as they have just started opening on a Sunday. We are glad that we did book, their $10 meals are very popular. For $10 it was great value and pretty much what you would expect for $10. I was also pleased that on the kids menu they had a beef snitzel and served kids meals with vegetable which not all pups and prepared to do. It was nice to go out for lunch and to not have it break the bank and it was a good decent meal...

Wife and i almost missed lunch owing to rediculous
5 minute parking regulation outside this restaurant and had to park a fair distance away and walk back. We were glad we did mind as we were blown away by the food. My wife ordered the chicken satay and i the lamb chops. The satay arrived first in a big bowl and was declared very good by better half. My chops arrived a little later and the size of the meal explained why the waitress couldnt carry both meals at the same time. OK, so the chops werent cutlets but the barbecue chops which came were huge and very tender. They came doused in a gravy but this couldnt disguise the wonderful flame grilled flavour. TWO real plusses for this pub are the chips which were even better [in my humble opinion] than most other restaurants which also make good chips. Thes were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. They were also served very hot and retained their heat. the second plus for a pub is that the salad was substantial, fresh with crispy leaves and well dressed. Well done and keep it up.
Both meals cost $10 dollars and this is now really raising the bar amongst Hobarts restaurants. We cant wait to try their T-Bone steaks but only wish the council would relax the parking for lunch time visitsAlmost forgot to mention the excellent Boags black beer. BLISS !.

Approximate cost: $10

The Shamrock is a popular choice as a lunchtime watering hole and restaurant. It's decor is a bit dated, but it's got a cute cosy bar at the front.
The bistro is well priced and meals are good.
