The staff are very lovely and attentive - the food is amazing - how to choose from so many scrumptious delights?
They could do with more seating

I went to Raspberry Fool with my mum while visiting in Tasmania. Mum goes there every thursday for breakfast and she raves about it. I agree with her. It was wonderful. I had the BEST French Toast with apple and rhubarb - I would definetly order it again!

Approximate cost: $15

Very friendly, efficient staff. Delicious pies, great variety, especially the vegetable. Really good coffee.

A must-go-to cafe! A weekly visit for brekky with my partner and to try other meals initially when it opened (during unemployment)..now I pop in for my morning coffee and to grab one of the unique salads for lunch and a treat while at work! The combination of ingredients in just about everything that this fabulous little hot spot produces is something that I would never have considered. Well done for thinking outside the square (which many in Slowbart (Hobart ) dont!)
RF has now made it to my list of very few places where I can walk in and the staff greet me by name and know exactly how I have my coffee - thanks Mark, you're the best!
Some of my faves:
All day brekky (goes without saying really)
Balsamic Roast Vegie and Barley Salad
Potato Pikelets with Chorizo and Zucchini Salad
Any of the savoury muffins are delicious (& always fresh out of the oven)
Truffles - heaven!
Apple and Plum Muffins!
You'd be a fool not to try this place!
May be a little expensive, but you pay for quality!!

Approximate cost: $12

Best breakfasts - great choices for vegetarians, reasonable prices, good quality products, imaginative menu, fabulous variety and quality service. Lunches and snacks are also amazing. Home made with imaginative offerings for both savour and sweet. Please don't close down before I get back to Hobart next week.

Approximate cost: $10-14 breakfast

Tried the sourdough with a variety of mushrooms and wilted greems for breakfast last week and a few weeks ago. Excellent. Also, just love the homemade muesli with fruit compote. Next time, poached eggs.

Great coffee, fantastic patisseries ( cakes and stuff ) and brilliant service. It is close to the main shopping area of the city and also to parking at North Central car park.

I find it a bit expensive myself but the service is great.

This is beautiful, simple food served with a warmth and graciousness that would make anyone feel welcome. I particularly like the pies but the watercress soup and homemade sourdough bread is delicious too. And you can see and taste and hear the pride the chef and waiting staff take in their work - checking the cabinets, speaking to the diners about the recipes and making changes, knowing when to hover and when to leave the diner alone, genuine smiles and courtesies - truly, warmly professional service and delicious, made-with-love food.

Read the other reviews and I just didn't taste it.

The staff are, as expected, friendly and helpful. Agree with other reviews.

I got there before 1200 and they didn't have my initial requests, actually it was only one or two of the pies of each type available and only one sausage roll.

I've tried three of the takeaway items: Meatloaf sandwich, Moroccan lamb pie and the chilli meat sausage roll; only select items can be takeaway.

The meatloaf sandwich, which was toasted (heavily compressed sandwich toasted) was done on a Vienna style loaf of brown bread (think of a small shoe sole for shape) and was so squashed I only id the gherkin by taste. The gherkin is the main taste so it should be called the gherkin sandwich. I did find and pulled out a bit of the meatloaf, it must have been more bread then meat as it had no taste. Grill toasting would have been better, but maybe you aren't meant to id the components; the rest was a melt cheese or white sauce(?). For a $12 sandwich it's not worth it, the ingredients could have been the finest, but squash to pieces it didn't matter.

The Moroccan lamb pie. I like lamb and know what it tastes like. I've also had Moroccan lamb before and yes I wouldn't expect too much from a pie version, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't lamb. Yes the spices could have hidden the taste, but they weren't that strong, quiet mild actually and I've tasted lamb in spicier dishes. The pastry was fair, if a bit oily.

The chilli meat sausage roll was what it said and quiet large, so no problem here. A little stronger then I was lead to believe, but it was chilli and meat (a fine mince). For others, the chilli was strong enough to burn the inside of the mouth. The pastry is the same as for the pie, oily enough to turn a brown paper bag clear – this may be a good thing for some.

Sorry I couldn't see anything to make this place special or worth going back to.

Approximate cost: $12

Thank you for your comments. I was surprised to read your review as the 3 items you mentioned are among our most popular. I'm not sure how we could have got it so wrong on your visit but I'm very sorry that you had a disappointing experience.

I stand behind the integrity of our produce. We use predominately free range meat sourced from local suppliers and treat the ingredients with care and respect.

Our pies and pastries are cooked in small batches throughout the morning to ensure they don't sit in the cabinet for too long. We then fully stock the cabinet and replenish through the lunchtime service.

We are always happy to cook pies to order and will happily package anything on the menu for takeaway.

Please give us another try.

I've always had great food at Raspberry Fool but I agree with you, the prices are just too steep! This is not Sydney, no one is going to pay $12 for a sandwich in Hobart!

Lovely little cafe in CBD. The staff are really friendly and customer focused. I love to drop by when I am having a bad day at work!
Great coffee and hot chocolate. They have delicious sweets to go with the coffee. The raspberry friands are lovely, but personally I now can't resist their triple choc brownies, very yummy and the perfect size.
They also do lunch - today I had their lentil and ham hock soup which came with lovely bread, really satisfying and good value (a generous serve).
There are about 4 tables for 2, and a number of stools at benches, so not a huge area, but very light and welcoming atmosphere.
You are are fool if you don't try this cafe!
