Had a possum problem. Multiple pest control companies failed to diagnose correctly. Peter the Possum Man got it right immediately and kept coming back until the problem was solved. Friendly, thoughtful and effective. Would recommend.

Approximate cost: $390

I'd be careful with this company- they have a lot of conditions which they'll tell you by phone (but not email as requested) while getting your credit card details so don't miss anything on the call! If your house is on stumps and you're trying to get rid of a possum who just comes in on the roof, I would look elsewhere as the inspection was a waste of time- they won't take it on.

DO NOT BOOK THESE GUYS!!! They are insufficient and took money out of my card without authority. Do not leave your credit card details with them, go with another company. This firm found 1 hole and the firm I book found at least 10, with unlimited call back. I now have started a fair trade case with Consumer Affairs. Please go elsewhere [redacted inflammatory comment]

I would not recommend this firm. Poor assessment - no exit gate installed, rat bait laid , poor follow up. No on call service.

Approximate cost: $539.

First there were the noises in the night, then holes began appearing in the ceiling plaster, finally I even discovered a "visitor" in a dark basket in the laundry. No, not poltergeists ... but possums. We put up with it for a while, thinking they'd move on, but they didn't. They were more at home in our house than we were.

So a call to Peter the Possum man led to several visits, checking of our roof and gaps between tiles and other possible places they were getting in. He was able to remove a couple of possums. This was very necessary as they had been pulling the insulation away from the underside of tiles and damaging things in the roof.

So the service was good and did what we needed. But either we had very persistent possums or not all the gaps were filled because at least one found their way back in later. Problem is, they won't take them away because possums have to stay in their own territory - and they think your house is it too. They fight with the cats and bite them, leading to expensive vet treatment.

I'm not saying the service was bad, just that it was annoying and inconvenient not to have the problem fixed the first time.

I've used Peter the possum man before and thought he did a great job, had to come out a few times to find all the holes. That's just the way it is, unless he is as small as a possum and thinks like a possum then it's very difficult to find every hole a possum could fit through, especially since the problem got so out of hand, they probably had loosened tiles that weren't visible, if you want to fix the roof, then maybe you need to get a roofer in to check all the tiles and grout.

The other problem is that if you take them away, more possums will move in anyway - so not much point.

Hope the problem is fixed now.
