A staple of footscray, glad it is still around after all these years. Best doughnuts in the area, stuff the fads, they do the original the best and at a great price.

Forget all other doughnut shops, this is the only one you need visit ever. Fluffy and light, hot, sweet, amazing balls of goodness. I can't ever get enough of them!

This is one of my favourite businesses in Footscray, located just at the foot of the stairs to Footscray Station.
I remember the first time I saw the little doughnut caravan, I thought it looked dodgy and cheap. However, a friend convinced me to try the doughnuts one afternoon recently, and I am definitely a fan.

The dough for the doughnuts is premade, however they are fried, piped with jam (from a cute little dolphin shaped tool) and rolled in sugar fresh as you order them.

They are very cheap, and they taste great. It is sometimes hard to stop yourself after just one.

Staff are exceptionally friendly and make every experience memorable.

I really like doughnuts from Olympic as they are always freshly made and so yummy and hot, especially good to eat during winter when you are waiting for the train at Footscray train station. They are still very affordable and you always get service with a smile.

Thank goodness the Doughnut Van is still there, despite all the station renovations, it remains undaunted. No-one can go by without sampling and then stocking up on these gorgeous little balls of jam filled goodness. Who cares how much they might not be good for you - a treat is always good for your well being.

The jam is an unidentifiable flavour to me ... somewhere between plum and raspberry with a little cranberry thrown in - sweet yet with a tanginess too. These doughnuts are just awesome and well worth missing a train connection at Footscray station for. They have a delicate texture - at once fluffy and doughy (in a good way) and then some crunchy bits too.

I've been eating them since a child and it's nice to know that the quality and "wow" factor is still there when you reach for your bag. Only 80c each - buy a few - you know you want to.
Best eaten on the day of purchase, but I've even frozen them and warmed up the next day in microwave - watch out for ballistically hot jam though.

Approximate cost: $80c each

These are amazing - such a Footscray institution. Its incredible that his little caravan is still there amoungst all the station development.
It takes me back to being a child - hot fresh cinnimon doughnuts and I love it how he pipes in the jam from the dolphin - so kitch and cute!
