The thai food here is the best in newtown. It's not very expensive and it's very tasty. It's really authentic according to one of my thai friend. The best place for people who want thai food but can't afford to pay alot.

Excellent Thai food at great prices. The lunch specials are only about $6 and you get lots of food for your money. Their stir frys are fantastic and their own stir fry dish that is a cross between a curry and a regular Thai stir fry is a nice change from the everyday stir fry.

I have been to Newtown Thai and Newtown Thai 2 many times. I had always had great experiences, the food was always freshly cooked and delicious. The last time I went there I was horrified when I saw a server pick up a pair of tongs that had fallen on the (very dirty) floor and put them back into the sprouts! Yuck!

I have dined here a few times and have never been disappointed. The food tastes amazing and there is a good seletion of choices available. This particular restaurant is further up King St (Sydney Uni/City Rd) than its sister restaurant Newtown Thai so is a bit quieter than the latter. Good if you don't really want to be right in the hustle of King St.
Prices are reasonable and they have great lunch specials.
