Interstate transport of vehicle

I recently had my VW Pole transported from Tasmania to WA. All the staff were friendly and efficient from the young lady on the end of the phone for my initial enquire to the guys who picked up my car and delivered it to my home address. Thank you everyone I would have no hesitation in recommending you.

Good price and service

I am happy with the service this company provided. Although I was a bit annoyed at a couple of days delay than I expected. By the time I got my car I was quite satisfied. One lesson I learned was to book a few days earlier than you expected, give a bit room for delay which may not be anyone’s intention. They provided very competitive price and finished transporting my car without issues. Talking to them on the phone was easy. The ladies were nice and patient with me.
My car was transported from Gold Coast to Sydney. I booked dropping off and picking up at depot. It was very convenient and easy travel both places. I didn’t have to wait at home for pick up and delivery. It also helps save money.

Not a transport company- call centre only

Book Direct- This company is a call centre only, they DO NOT move cars and charge you a premium to make the phone calls and bookings for you with the cheapest possible carriers they can find and when the customer finds their service unsatisfactory they promise to make calls only and you cannot deal direct for complaints with the cheap carriers they use.

I gave them 5 stars for their amazingly slick website and ability to fool me into thinking I had booked with a top notch transport company.

For my booking I used their Fastest option which was 6-10 business days, turns out when they selected the carrier they chose his slower option which is 7-10 business days and the staff member at the cheap transport company explained to me that because you are on the slower service will be minimum 10 business days because the express service gets priority and can’t guarantee times, only ever 7 days if no one using express and only 6 other cars waiting to go which is NEVER.

Moral of the story is prepare for at least TWO BUSINESS weeks (14 days) mine took 20 days from drop off at Perth Depot to Pickup at Sydney depot.

When I researched the service that NCM booked for me, I could walk in and pay $900 for that transport and NCM charged me $1300, I could have walked in and paid $1100 at the time with the cheap carrier and they would have guaranteed me a 6 day window.

When I brought this up with NCM’s call centre manager Robert he said “Where are you getting these prices” “We didn’t pay that”… of course they didn’t because they have regular dealings with this carrier, doubt they paid more than $600.

To add insult to the poor customer service, I asked for compensation for the ordeal of not being able to use the car for the additional time it sat in the sun at Welshpool and the fact it was missing when needed in my time in Sydney and Robert’s response was “ If I can get reimbursement from the carrier I’ll see if I can pass that on to you” . This was over 1 week ago and notwithstanding the fact they already made minimum $400 profit from the booking and have a contract with me, their mistakes going cheap is not my responsibility!. They will dodge any responsibility and offer extremely poor terms and conditions including exorbitant cancellation fees even if car is never dropped off to carrier. Avoid avoid avoid is all I can say.

Oh and don’t take my word for it, just click on the 1 star reviews and you will see dozens of similar stories because this company is all about profit margins and not customer service.

Oh and before I get the generic reply from management gets posted saying “Sorry we couldn’t find your booking, can you please get in contact” it’s C2151836.

Now I’ll get the reply “ Sorry your car arrived on the 20th which was a Sunday and according to our records it should have arrived at the latest on the 15th so all in all 3 business days late”

Anyway please don’t make my mistake, research actual carriers, call their numbers first , ask for their warranty coverage and confirm they are a carrier and not a booking service.
