We took on Local Home Improvements in Oct 2019 to replace our patio. this was to be our Christmas gift for 2019. In Nov we started to complain when was he going to start, we had promise after promise but no action. All he wanted was more money.
We reluctantly paid again half of what he wanted. Still no action.--- In January 2020 he cleared out his site in Delacombe, He still insisted that was only relocating but could not give me a new address yet.
Later that year we went through VCAT. Nov 2020 the court awarded in our favour that he should pay us back what was owed plus court costs.
From Oct 2019 our problem started 16 months ago

I would definitely not recommend this business to anyone.
Len was persistent in terms of locking in the job. He asked for a large deposit which we paid. After many phone calls the job never started for weeks despite Len advising that he could complete within one week. Bad workmanship. After several weeks later the job was not completed. We asked for half our money back which we never received. Job still not complete and we are now thousands of dollars out of pocket, months later.

I would advise against anyone looking to hire Local Home Improvement services.

In the first instance Len came across well and we awarded his business the project. A large deposit was requested to lock in the job as well as enabling Len and his team to put in the order for materials. Material’s for the job where never ordered and the commencement date for the job was continually pushed back.

Phone calls were not returned by Len or his accountant after asking for a refund we were advised by Len that the money we had given as a deposit was “long gone spent” as such we are still waiting for a refund eight months later.

We are a young family and the process has financially impacted us. We write this review in hope that it helps defer other innocent people being taken advantage of.
