Saw a film in the holidays.
Explained to the staff about my son's sensory issues and was happy to hear that if things didn't work out, we could get a full refund if we left within the first 15 minutes.
As it turned out, we had a great time.

huge as screen, usually showing popular movies or the occasional spinoff educational ones made for imax theatres

great for families and young kids - bit pricey though but it's next to the museum and there's parking underground too

Size screen is okay. The one in Sydney is massive. Standard doco's shown in IMAX theatres at the overpriced IMAX price. Conveniently located next to the museum which is handy. At times they have a combo deal that allows you to see a film and visit the museum. This makes a great day out.

biggest in the southern hemisphere or something like that, but man the screen really was huge! their 3d glasses were proper ones as well, not the flimsy paper ones, food was standard cinema prices and seats were very comfy

good location, easy to find a park too

overall would only go for a 3d experience, not for a normal movie (too maintain the novelty)

The screen is wow! Really big, almost too big to see it properly. The sound is amazing although more comfy seats would be useful. Overpriced for the experience and the candy shop is way too expensive for all items (drinks, chips, popcorn etc.).

The screens here are ok but the seating isnt wonderful at all and slightly ruins the experience. It is UNBELIEVABLY over priced including parking, movie and candy bar. We also struck completely unpleasant staff members TWICE!! Another horrifying factor, no baby change room. I had to change my son on the floor as there was no seating available either. :( it was not a nice experience and made not only me uncomfortable but the other patrons having to watch (and smell my babies poopy nappy being changed.

Just a note to the establishment: Imax brisbane only charges $5-$9 for tickets, parking is $5, popcorn is $3-5 and drinks are cheap too. The cinema is awesome, has a more community feel despite it being HUGE. The staff are unbelievably accommodating and helpful and there are plenty of toilets. Families go weekly instead of yearly and they make plenty of money at their well stocked candy bar as people dont bother bringing outside snacks in.

I love going to see movies at IMAX. It's worth the extra cost just to see it super sized. The documentary style movies they screen here are also excellent.

I went to IMAX more than a year ago and would do it again if there was a movie I am really interested in. I purchased a combination ticket for IMAX and Melbourne Museum which cost about 22$ and it was well worth it. I also had some chocolate, which was expensive, but the staff was friendly.

I saw the Hubble 3D movie about the Hubble Space Telescope. The quality was IMAX standard and the 3D glasses were embarrasing as usual :)
I can remember that there weren't many people around and the speakers were quite loud, but the 3D effects and the voice of Leonardo DiCaprio just compensated for that small inconvenience.

I wouldn't say IMAX is a must do in Melbourne, but it was a good experience anyway.

Best, the cinema is big and the noise is fantastic, you should visit this place. Your money is well spent and you will enjoy yourself
