This place is amazing, and the owner was super nice as well. My boss sent me to get a giant mille feuille for the office, after swearing by them for ages, and they really lived up to the hype. So nice to be able to try something different to the average aussie bakery. The price was a lot cheaper than I was expecting. Very impressed!

The owners really are good business people. They take care of their customers by offering a little "extra" in the way of service as well as tasting their products.

Well, we come from a European background (Switzerland and Germany). While living in Switzerland, I was often disappointed with the cakes on offer there. Hilltop Cakes manages to combine the best of both countries, offering Swiss specialities as well as German-style cakes. Bravo!

This place is a real find. Delicious food, and lots of small bite-size cakes that are perfect for entertaining. Their truffles and biscuits are amazing also.

What a gem of a family business. Swiss baking at its very best... and as for catering for large parties, they are brilliant - helpful, friendly and very very generous. Everything is a treat from Hilltop Bakery - it's worth travelling that little bit further.

I ordered a cake from here for my boy and girl twins first birthday. I wanted a cake from Hill Top for one child and was ordering an ice cream cake elsewhere for the other child. They were so helpful and polite and were more than happy to add some personal decorations to the cake that I have. I wasnt the easiest customer, first deciding it was to be for my daughter and to have flowers on it, only to call a couple of days before and change it as the birthday cake for my little boy! They werent fussed with the changes, did blue birthday message and strawberries on it instead as well as our decorations. It was the best cake and the service was so unbelievable that I will use them every year for one of the kids birthday cakes. Must try the mille foi cake - it is to die for. Guests come back for seconds and third servings so be generous when ordering size! You wont be disappointed.

After searching around to get real tasty birthday cakes and cookies I found the Swiss Hilltop Bakery in Surrey Hills. Whenever I need a cake I get it from there now and I am always perfectly satisfied. ChrisH

This has been one of my favorite bakeries since I had a business in the area 20 years ago. I hated it when they closed for a month from Christmas! Winter soups are great, home made European style breads, gingerbreads and stollen, pies and quiches, but my favourite is the petit feuille (like vanilla slice) - no, changed my mind, it's the strawberry tartlets, no make that the profiteroles - no wonder I kept going back!
