We visit this place a couple of times a week. My favourite is the eclairs, absolutely delicious. The biscuits are yumm, once you taste them you wouldnt ever want to buy supermarket ones. Everything is really good- baked cheese cake, soups in the winter, strawberry tarts. We order all family bday cakes here- The chocolate cake is not fancy looking but full points for taste. Everytime we cross this place (atleast twice a day!) my son (and me too) wants to stop for a treat! Lucky to have hilltop in the neighbourhood.

They've local legends. Friendly and reliable and whatever they make tastes great. Surrey Hills is very lucky.

I definitely agree with the other reviewers. It is a lovely family business, and this aspect really shines through from the service levels (warm, genuine and true) to the offerings on the order menu. They have a good range of sweet and savoury options. Whichever lifts your fancy, be it the asparagus quiche, mini pies, or strawberry tarts and eclairs, they are beautifully made and fresh. None of your factory standard, homogenously perfect creations here. It is original and slightly rustic, just like you would expect from an authentic pastry shop in europe. My favourite local.

This is a great family business with two generations of the family baking and serving. Its top quality Swiss baking at its best. Their continental cakes, pastries biscuits are just superb. The savoury side is just as good with excellent pies, quiches and sausage rolls. To top it off, their bake great rye bread and rolls, and on most days there are fresh rye bread sandwiches and homemade soup in winter. Prices are very reasonable and Helen always serves you with a lovely smile.

I have been using Hilltop Cakes for over 20 years for everything from lunch goodies to special occassion cakes. At all times I have found everything about this business to be nothing short of excellent, always fresh, high quality and exceptional value for money. Breads are lovely and only yesterday I had a yummy soup.

I regularly have their birthday cakes, little cakes and savouries for parties and often get asked where the food comes from. The biscuits and plain cakes are also great. The service and food at this family business really is consistently top notch. The best way I can think of describing the food is that it has a genuine wholesome homemade look and taste - but by a superb home chef !
