Hi, the customer support of the store is the worst of all the Harvey Norman stores I have dealt with. We bought a new leather sofa recently and was found to have a damage on opening the box. I have asked them to refund or replace it with a like to like new sofa. I have been offered by the store a repair of a new sofa , it was not even a floor stock sold “as is “” but a new sofa and was told it would be repaired. You pay for a new sofa and you end up getting a repaired sofa , technically classed as a factory second.

Is this where a brand name “ Harvey Norman “” going ? I have bought all my previous sofas and tables from them but NO More , they are no longer” he Harvey Norman “ I use to know.

I have complained to consumer affairs and writing to VCAT.

It’s very disappointing. I paid deposit money for a tempur mattress which is $370. When I got home I found out the mattress was too thick to match with my baby’s cot mattress. So I quickly rang up and cancelled the delivery. I went back to the shop I thought I would get some deposit money back as it wasn’t delivered. Unfortunately they refused to pay me back as the cancellation fee is 20% of total cost.

I understand they charge me cancellation fee , but just don’t understand I lost total deposit fee even it wasn’t delivered .

Held an order for us for 3 weeks upon our request due to a delay in our property settlement. Very happy with their service.

Had a very bad expereience here in the white goods department. Attempted to buy a freezer, they were happy to take our money in full and promise us a delivery date. Turns out they never had the freezer in stock yet were happy for us to walk out the store without informing us. When attempting to get our money back we found the service to be terrible, the salesman was rude and the response to our complaint was pathetic. We got the impression that they just didn't care. DOn't buy from here, go next door.

as with most harvey norman stores they have a great range of products - this store is large with a great range - the staff are obliging and there is plenty of room for negotiation on prices

I just bought a new TV from these guys, having done the rounds with the Good Guys and JB Hi Fi. I bought from Harvey Norman because they were the cheapest (in fact, the other retailers let me leave the store because they wouldn't do it for the price I wanted). What's more, I didn't have to deal with all the low integrity sales psychology that you get from the others (especially JB Hifi). And to top it off, the TV had a fault (Samsung's problem, not HN), and when I called expecting a battle to sort it out, they agreed straight off to replace it with a new one. Highly Recommended!

Staff very helpful. Interest free terms available. Able to combine all departments into one transaction for interest free terms. Buy more than $1,000 you have the ability to haggle.

We just bought a $5000 oven from them. We didn't want to pay for delivery so we organised to pick it up that weekend. They whinged about having to help load it. They really found it too hard to give us a little bubble wrap as the oven had no box. Then we order another part which came 3 weeks later - about 500grams worth, fit in a shoebox .... we had to go to the store, get kids out, pay at cashier, put kids in car, drive 5 minutes and then get them out again... for this tiny item. Appaerntly it's 'normal' for deliveries to be picked up at the warehouse. Look it sounds like I am whinging; but it just left a bad taste in my mouth.
