Bought a "new" amplifier and when I needed a repair done it was opened up and found to have been `jerried up' ie parts taped together. In other words it had definitely been used yet was sold as new.

This is news to us. If this was the case you should have brought it back for a replacement. We only sell brand new amplifiers. We do not sell second hand or refurbished amps. We do not use jerried parts. Please bring the amp in and show us what you are talking about.
