When I walk into the cafe I feel good. I always enjoy coming here because it's light filled, cheerful and the views are gorgeous. In winter if you can get seat close by there is a lovely fire which is very comforting. We find the coffee and cakes to be good quality and we have always found the service to great. Nothing seems to be too much trouble.

This is a nice cafe for a coffee and a sweet treat. Its a lovely location and a nice way to spend the morning feeding the birds and grabbing a warm drink. It seems a bit fancy but they dont mind children which is good given the attraction and would prob be quite nice in the summer too! (We went in the winter!)

This is a gorgeous light cafe with marvellous views of the dense forest. I had eggs benedict and a hot chocolate, both were delicious. They also had a souvenir shop for the tourists passing through. We bought a packet of wild bird seed to feed the cockatoos and parrots that like to land on you. You can also buy bags of bird seed in the shop if you wish. Best to get there early in the morning if you want to feed the birds.

I had the lyrebird salad with smoked salmon the presentation and serving size was amazing, very good value for money. I was impressed with the kids showbag this kept them amused whilst we enjoyed our lunch. Afterwards we went for a walk down the Margarette Lester track (which would also be suitable for wheelchairs) Great scenary, informative and stunning views. We finished off our day feeding the wild birds- great experience
Great atmosphere, lovely people, great place to bring the family.

This restaurant and gift shop is just at the entrance of Grants Reserve (at Grants Picnic Ground), in Sherbrooke Forest in the Dandenongs. There are some lovely walks - one suitable for young children and people wishing to take a stroll (only a kilometre or so) up to more ambitious, hours long walks. You can buy seeds ($1/bag) from the gift shop if you wish to feed the many parrots that visit the Picnic Ground - including cockatoos, galahs and rosellas. This is a great activity for all visitors.

The restaurant is smart but casual, reasonably priced and has a menu that caters to children and adults. You can eat on the deck outside, weather permitting. The service is invariably courteous and understanding of children, if a bit slow sometimes (when very busy).

The gift shop has a very wide range of Australian-themed merchandise, ranging from clothes, toys, manchester, hats and other giftware. It is especially good for those wishing to buy gifts to take or send overseas, or for visitors wishing to take home an 'Australian' memento.

We love this place and usually have breakfast or lunch there after a walk. We visit every three months or so.
