We stayed for 2 nights in a king size bedroom. The bed was comfy and the toilets clean, showers powerful and fitted with modern furnishings. Staff were very friendly and were all out to help international travelers like us, including hailing a cab. It has free WiFi, the cheapest breakfast and the cheapest minibar I have seen in Australian hotels. It is definitely excellent value for money. The hotel is located just a stone throw away from the Hobart Travel Center, which is where most tours depart, It is also within walking distance to the wharf, with many floating restaurants, and about 10 minutes walk to Salamanca Market, the museum and the ferry cruise to Port Arthur.

The foyer is warm&inviting-soft,comfy chairs-i loved the long red vinyl couch! i was met with a friendly smile&staff could answer all my questions throughout stay- the 24hr reception is so helpful(i felt more secure entering building at night esp). all this for around $109 anight. such good value! And they offer buffet b-fast at just $10.80! loved the poached eggs&the rest! you get the feel of being very spoilt here! Convenience plus!

This place is PERFECT for anyone who likes modern, clean, comfortable and well-sized hotel rooms within walking distance from the wharfs and main shopping malls.

We booked this place for only 1 night to "test" it out, to see if the reviews lived up to the hype, and we loved it so much that we booked another 2 nights for later on in the week when we returned to Hobart.

Our room had a nice view of the hill leading to the Tasman bridge. We were basically next to the round about, but never heard the traffic at all.

Rooms are spacious, clean, massive double showers instead of the silly "stand in the bath tub to have your shower" design, king bed was super comfortable, air con, great massive tv, lovely amenities. Also, massive draw card, FREE PARKING!

Now for the mini bar... cost of nuts $1.50. Cost of a big bag of lollies, or big block of chocolate? $2.50. The prices are insanely low, and the reasoning behind this is because there is a shop close by that you could buy them at that price for if they decided to charge highly. Even the Pringles were only $2.50!

The breakfast was only $10.80, and was a buffet style. It was excellent value, with bacon, poached eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, hash browns, massive selection of cereals in mini boxes, 5 kinds of bread, various jams, spreads, yogurt, fruit compotes, extensive range of teas and coffees, as well as brewed coffee which was quite nice.

All this, as much as you want, for $11.80. It is the cheapest breakfast I have ever had in a hotel, EVER. Awesome.

Highly recommend you stay at this hotel. Took us about 2 minutes to drive the wharfs, and less to Liverpool St. Everything is very close. We walked everywhere, and a walk to Salamanca Place took about 15 minutes tops. It is all flat too, so no hills to hike up or down.

Room Tip: I stayed in level 6, which is what I would recommend for people, as the view is sensational!

Stumbled across this gem through a travel booking site. Fantastic small hotel - service above and beyond, and really cheap rates. Would always pick this as base camp when visiting Tassie.

Formerly the Best Western, this is an affordable, comfortable hotel, and conveniently located (10 minute walk from the city.Extremely nice hotel, best beds ive ever slept on. Very clean and luxurious
