Budget Direct wants to make me pay an extra $230 premium for car insurance for a not-at-fault accident. I have been driving for 48 years. I have never had an at-fault claim. A women drove into my parked car last December. I was not present. When I returned, she gave me her details and I claimed with my insurer (GIO, which provided excellent service for the the claim). I paid no excess and retained my full no-claim bonus benefits.

You cannot talk to an underwriter at Budget Direct, only the sales staff. They are cherry pickers.

After being involved in an accident that had occurred late last year that wasn't my fault I had made a claim through my insurance company which is budget direct to help fight the matter. I knew from the harassment and bullying i had received from the other insurance companies involved in the accident that both parties were trying to blame myself for the accident. I had paid my excess and had asked several times prior to paying would i be notified whether these companies would be paid out. After not hearing from the company in a month i rang to see what was happening. I was shocked to find that budget direct had paid off the other insurance companies and not even informed myself. This has really screwed myself over as i would have advised them that i want to go to court. I had paid for an expensive service in which i had not received. I will definitely not being using budget direct at all in the future and will be advising friends and family of the poor and quality service they would receive by going with this company.

I had been with BD for 11 of 12 years and no problems until I claimed a no fault accident and it hit the fan. The vehicle was purchased in April 16 at $29k with $ 5k's of dealer add ons but stuff me they offered $22k for the repairable writeoff. To buy a similar vehicle with no extras,Reg or stamp duty was $24,400 but all they wanted was my bank details to get rid off me. I have purchased same vehicle brand new same model with $3,000 of dealer add ons for $28,500 at a loss of $7,600 plus some extras, thanks for nothing BD. I am now with a competitor that is same price but offers Agreed value and two years new for old.

So got cheap insurance, but when i got hit from behind aqnd had to make a claim it went eown hill fast. Over rso monthsw to sort out and the bike rack that was attached to the tow bar was not covered. No responses to emails, isent over 20. They only called me on a private number during work hours. Very poor service. My advice stay away, i will be.

We have dealt with Budget over the years and are about to renew our policy with them as they are very good value and offer good service.

Cheap car insurance, but they are nothing more than thieves. I thought my car was covered but by the time they had finished assessing it I got a cheque for $750. Waste of time insuring it. I will be canceling my other insurance policy with them and will never use them again. No doubt they will find some other way of robbing me through the cancelation process. PRINT THAT!

I always get 3 quotes whenever my insurances (car and house) are due, and budget direct consistently wins as the cheapest when comparing equivalent policies. I suggest them to friends and they also have the same result. Cannot comment on the claim process though as I have not made a claim yet.

I love these guys. It was the easiest thing to set up my insurance online without the hassle of a phone call and queues. I have been iwth these guys for 2 years and have had nothing but an easy time of it even when I had to claim,

A new note. After being with these guys for 2 years my insurance jumped up a large amount so I got 2 other quotes and there's was way overpriced. I called them, they originally tried to throw me off with policy comparisons but when they realised I was about to hang up and not renew, they put me on hold and came back with a price match. These companies rely on us relaxing, being too tired to notice or care about checking our price hikes. It saved me a lot of money by paying attentire to what I was paying.

i have changed over to budget from another unsatisfactory insurance mob i arranged it all on the phone the gentelman was very helful answering all my questions paperwork was in the mail next day we found it cheaper than the pensioner insurance

My partner has his car insured with budget direct and have had no problems we made a claim and they were fantastic easy to talk to, since then I have changed my insurance over to budget direct and have saved so much money
