Very dissatisfied with this store, my partner waited 3 days for click and collect , he end up going up there and was told it wasn't in the system. When he asked to see the manager they had another look and found it . It was a $550.00 mobile that they had out the back the whole time. Today I was up there and needed help at tect department , but nobody around I waited 10 minutes. As I was leaving I saw a lady who worked there and she said she was busy out the back . I asked her for help with SD cards and she had no idea but she worked that area. She said I have an IPhone so I don't no about Samsung. So I rang my daughter at work and she helped me though it. OMG Big W whats going on up there.

I quiet often go to Big W to buy clothing for my children, my husband and myself, the staff are always friendly and helpful. The quality of their clothing is amazing and last a long time, that they end up being hand me downs to other little boys in our family. The value is excellent as they always have some amazing bargains, I think it is a fantastic family store

Big W is a well known low-end department store with some well known brands and their own brands too. I have found the clothing to be a disappointing quality that loses its shape in the first wash no matter how careful one is (ie hand washing and flat drying).

In February I bought a $98.00 Repco bike. I didn't expect amazing quality but wanted to see if I would use it regularly before I spent more on a quality brand. The bike was missing the tools for assembly but a quick trip to Bunnings and $15 on tools I haven't used since sorted that out.

On my first ride I was 30 minutes into my beach track ride (all flat or down hill surfaces) when the pedal snapped off. I couldn't put a snap like that back together and, luckily for me, a lovely man who happened to be a tool maker pulled over to lend a hand. He tried, with his tools and expertise to reattach the pedal but decided it wasn't possible and suggested I bought a Giant brand bike (he was a midget).

While I waited for Monday to take the bike back (which was leant against a wall) the wheels let out loud hisses and deflated.

I took the bike back to Big W with a bank statement showing my purchase (the receipt had faded) which was easily proved. I had 5 staff standing around staring at me as I explained what had happened and that I would not accept a "repair" as the quality was obviously appalling and I didn't want to be stranded again. I considered the bike faulty.

Big W then insisted that because I hadn't utilised their assembly service it was my fault. I stated I didn't know they had an assembly service and was told there was a flier in the box it came in. I denied this (remember when I was looking through everything for the missing assembly tools?) And was told by the Manager very firmly that that there was no doubt about the flier being in the box. I stood my ground but wasn't believed.

I then stated I wanted a cash refund when told I was to be given a voucher. I reminded them that it is illegal to insist on store credit when the item is faulty (http://www.aussielegal.com.au/informationoutline~nocache~1~SubTopicDetailsID~840.htm) but gave up with 5 staff staff members standing around staring like I was a trouble maker and took the voucher.

Finally I went to use my voucher and it had expired 2 days beforehand (it had a 6 month expiry date) and I was told I couldn't use it. I have been denied my money back by the store. I am in the process of putting my complaint and demand for return of my cash to the Director at present.

Seems like theft to me.

I now feel unable to take or recommend vulnerable patients to Big W in case they are ripped off too.
