Our child did 1 1/2 terms with Aquatots. Halfway through the second term she was re-assessed and we were told that she had to move up a class. Unfortunately no classes were available at the pool she was at, so we were offered alternatives at Forde and Gold Creek. I expressed my concern that the locations were not convenient for us, but said I would try. I tried both classes, and as suspected, it was not a good location for us. I was also very concerned about the level of teaching provided during one of the classes, it was a very inexperienced teacher and the instruction was very poor.

Aquatots offered us other classes, but at times that would have involved a parent having to leave work early to attend, something that we couldn't commit to each week. That also still didn't fix the issue of the locations being not suitable. We would never have enrolled our child at the locations and times we were offered.

We asked for a refund of the remaining term, as Aquatots couldn't offer us anything that matched what we had been doing previously. This was refused under the basis that "we had been offered alternatives". Yes - times we can't get to due to work (eg 5pm and earlier) and at pools to far away for us to get to in time. So we have been ripped off and they have kept out money.

I have since read numerous poor reviews about this swim school, including from previous employees. Don't go there, they will rip you off.

My son has been swimming at Aquatots for nearly 4 years now. They have continued to challenge him and I love their focus on teaching life saving techniques not just lap swimming. We've dealt with so many different instructors over the years and all of them have been passionate and positive.

My son (now 18mo) has been attending Aquatots since he was 3mo. It's an excellent swim school with highly qualified instructors. The children move up based on age as well as skills. The classes are limited to no more than 8 per class (and usually there's less) so the kids get plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor. I've dealt with most of the instructors over our time there and I've found them to all be great, Celia is a definite favourite though she's super patient and fun for the kids. The term fee also includes a free swim camp (5 days for a week in the school holidays) so you really see an improvement.

Approximate cost: $180 per term

Went for our first swiiming lesson with a 15 month old and a 3 year old. Toddler class was crowded and parent had to participate. Teacher was friendly and energetic. My 3 year old just wouldn't listen and most of the 30min, she was just off doing her own thing. The instructor didnt seem to care either way. Lucky I was there in the pool with her encouraging her to listen and participate. Or else she would have just played for 30min instead of learning anything.

One thing I was a little annoyed was the cost. Last yr it was $160 but I was told it would go up to $170 in the new year BUT found out on the day that its $180.

I wouldn't mind paying if the instructor was a little more attentive to the 3 year olds. He had only 3 kids to teach afterall.

My four year old daughter started swimming lessons at Aquatots at the beginning of this year. Her instructor seems very friendly and competent, setting the children at ease and allowing for their individual skills and needs. Unfortunately, because the school is so busy, there is no facility for make-up lessons if your children is sick (although they do offer a school holiday program credit if you skip more than three lessons.)

Approximate cost: $16 per lessons
