I decided to proceed with placing an order with 1800-BLI-NDS, as the guy who attended onsite to do the measure on quote seemed to really know his stuff.

We placed the order and scheduled an installation date based on their standard lead times. Two business days prior to the scheduled installation date, we received a call from them to advise that the factory had only just advised them that there was a delay on our order, and that it would not arrive for another 3 weeks.

The [Redacted due to mentioning name] offered no apology since the revised (delayed) installation date was still within their standard lead times. I confirmed with them when the deposit was paid, and queried how the revised installation date was still within their lead times, since it seemed to overshoot it by almost two weeks (best case). The [Redacted due to mentioning name] then denied stating that the revised installation date was within their standard lead times, but still failed to demonstrate any accountability or ownership to remedy the situation.

I requested the managing director to contact me, but received no contact.

From where I stand, I have little confidence in ever getting the blinds. A real shame as the measure and quote guy was also an installer - doing a great job, but being let down my management and a clear absence of process and accountability.

pretty happy with this company,My family had there windows installed with roller shutters on the outside.There was no problem with the job and have since recommended them to another friend who wanted something similar done.

Had plantation shutters quoted and installed within 5 weeks. The sales guy was helpful and very competitive with prices on other quotes we had got. Service was impeccable - they called to let us know quote time, installation time, before arriving. My friends always comment on the shutters saying how good they look. Very happy!

Major issues with 1800 Blinds

19 July 2011 we put a deposit of $2000 on a $4400 job for plantation shutters, we were told it would take 8 weeks till installation.

26 September 2011 9 weeks later, We got our shutters installed  to find the shutters in our bedroom were the wrong angle. The installer called his office to let them know, he told us they will call us back to let us know what's happen with our shutters. He then packed up took our existing blinds from our bedroom leaving us with no blinds only a curtain in our bedroom for the next 10 weeks.

3 weeks later my wife calls as we have not heard from the company to be told the shutters have been ordered and they shouldn't take as long as the first lot as they are flagged a PRIORITY.

It took longer than the first lot 10 weeks
23 nov 2011 we received a call that the shutters have arrived and they will be installed on 2dec 2011, we asked why they couldn't be installed earlier as its been 18 weeks we were told they are booked out till 2nd dec.

I called the next day asking to speak to a manger so we could get our PRIORITY order installed earlier. 
Sales manager called to tell me they couldn't install them earlier as they have not yet arrived, when we had already have been told they had arrived.

02 dec 2011 the shutter are installed, i asked for a discount on the final payment. The manager took $150 off the $4400 job. I told him i was not happy with $150 discount fon a job that took over 19 weeks to complete. He couldn't take any more off so final payment was made payment made.
After the installer had left we have noticed a few imperfection on the shutter and the installation it shelf was unaceptable.
Holes appearing were the gaps have been sealed, one 2cm gap sealed with gap fill and a spat of dark paint lacquer on one if the shutter blades.

We have called however no response from the company.

 We lodged a complaint with fair trading were the company called us back after fair trading called them.

12 dec 2011 The manager visited our home to inspected our shutters he documented the issues later sending me an email report detailing his action plans to fix our issues.
In the report he made some claims that our concerns are a result of decisions we have made some what industry standard finishes, shiftng the blame from his company which is incorrect.

 All we want is to get this job completed, the has been going I. Since July 2011 it's now February 2012

He told me he would personally come and fix our issues after Xmas in mid January.
In the begining of February I started to call and leave messages with 1800Blinds inregards to our shutter problems, however again NO RETURNED phone calls.

The only reason we  chose 1800 BLinds is they had the longer warranty than other companies however we have not received any documentation on this warranty or any office receipt on our purchase.

 

I doubt our current issues will be quickly resolved.

Latest Update 
I called 1800 Blinds in the start of march. Arranged for the manger to come over on the 06/03/12 to fix our issues. He never turned up! Called back and arranged for him to turn up the next day, which he did however no apology from him for not turning up the previous day.
He fixed our issues to a satisfactory  level were I can now say that the job from 1800 blinds is complete after 9 months and their customer service has still not improved one bit.

Our office need new blind. We phoned the company and their salesperson came immediately and did mensuration and quotation. and only few days their installer come to fix everything. Great customer service and great price.
