WARNING, WARNING, WARNING
In Early November 2011 I True Value Solar as the preferred supplier of a 10KW grid connected Solar Power System. I was required to pay a $10,000 deposit to secure the current special and was promised the system would be installed before Xmas. Well after hounding True Value Solar and actually requesting my deposit back and to cancel the order I finally had my system commissioned in Late February 2012. Things appeared to be OK so I let bygones be bygones. My first surprise was when I tried to get monitoring support for my system only to find out that the company that made the Inverters had gone out of business well before the system was even installed ergo no proper support for monitoring. I was assured that True Value would support the system as guaranteed. The next really bad experience I had was at the end of November when one of the two inverters went offline. I contacted True Value and was assured that someone would be out as soon as possible. Well its now the 18th of December and despite many phone calls and just as many assurances that we would be given priority and be contacted with information nothing has happened and the promises have come to nothing. I have now lost in excess of $150 worth of power generation and the bill is climbing. Today when I asked to speak to senior customer service personnel I was told that if I have any complaints that they have to be in writing and sent by post to True Value Solar. A fat lot of good that will do I'm sure and its not going to get my system back online any quicker. So if you have any expectations of quick installation or service forget these people they just don't react. And if this happens with a $25,000 installation what about all the smaller jobs????
Update 2-Jan-13
Still no sign of True Value Service personnel and told that "Warranty Dept." not back til 7-Jan-13. That will be 40 days scince the system was reported faulty and that is not even when they will attend my property much less determine the fault and fix it. And the lost revenue bill is now in excess of $375 and still climbing. True Value is in my opinion false advertising.

Approximate cost: $25,000
