What has happened to Coles Insurance? Up until a couple of years ago I had transferred all of mine and my families insurance to Coles, both cars and houses. Over the past 2 years I have had to dump most of these because my renewals had gone up so much and I got several other quotes from others. The final straw came when I received my home insurance renewal. Up from $1,755 to $8,331 in one year. No claims, no fires or floods or crime in our area and I am retired and at home every day. I switched insurance cover for $2,200 elsewhere.

In August 2015 we contacted this business to request a building report. We were told everything was fine and purchased the house. As soon as we moved in water poured in through the ceiling. Later we found that roof tiles had been laid too flat and we had to replace these with special metal roofing. We found evidence that previous owners had covered up that roof had leaked ever since they extended house. Other visible damage was found on roof. Water also poured in through the workshop roof due to incorrect flashing and installation of it's roof. Fence posts were all rotten. Building inspector refused to even discuss issues and brought in the lawyers to deny everything without even referencing our numerous issues which we documented, provided expert statements by our contractors and photographed.
