We just spent a weekend in the gold coast to attend an Accor vacation club presentation. The sales guy was nice but they put the hard sell on you making out that its the people sitting in the penthouse offices (that we were in) having a royal life by joining this club and the rest of the suckers on the street paid full price for their holidays. They present all the beautiful pictures and brochures and it sounds ok, however when you are parting with $29 upfront and $1000 maintenance costs they you want to do due diligence and think it over, do your research and don't sign anything with seeing a lawyer. This however is not how they operate, its sign that weekend or the offer is off the table, which made us instantly realise that its a sham, companies with an outstanding product don't do this, so our advise is be very careful and do your homework. We are members of the Accor hotel program and that works really well for us we assumed that having the same brand this may also be good but its left us with a really bad taste in our mouths about Accor in general.
